One of the biggest projects NASACR introduced for the 2025 Cup Series season was the DAP program. It was an initiative that was aimed at rewarding racers for being more involved in PR for the sport and using incentives to attract more fans to racing. It so far has been successful with many marketing campaigns involving the drivers going viral.
The reigning Cup Series champion Kyle Larson enjoyed the Drivers Ambassador Program more than anyone. Talking about recently in ten RACER.com industry week, the racer admitted that it was a cool experience. He pointed out that the drivers got to do more PR activities than they have ever done and it made them feel like they are making more impact in the sport.
I would say the NASCAR’s new DAP program that you mentioned was really cool this year. It got us all out doing way more things than we ever would have. Because we actually felt like we were making an impact on the sport.
Kyle Larson said via Racer Industry Week.
Further talking about the points, he admitted that the different commercials and publicity activities he was part of were pretty exciting as well as fun. They were able to be part of more sporting events, attend shows, spend time with other celebrities and being in the public eye not only helped the sport but has also helped the drivers to grow their personal brand.
So, yeah, that was good. And yeah, we got to just speaking for myself and seeing what others had done, you we got to do a lot of fun things, going to cool sporting events, getting on shows and meeting different celebrities and just being out in the public eye a lot more.

Kyle Larson has no plans to have playoffs in his racing series
Kyle Larson owns the High Limit Racing series, one of the best Sprint car series in the series, with his brother in law and they have successfully hosted multiple campaigns the last few seasons. Recently he was asked about the sport potentially introducing a playoff format like NASACR. The veteran asserted that he has no plans to do it and insisted that it doesn’t belong in his series.

I would hope, and I’m pretty certain, that will never happen in sprint car racing. Like, even the late model playoff that they have, I think, is better than what we have in NASCAR, but still it’s not like, I don’t know. It’s not fair. Or not the fairest way. To me, it doesn’t even really add that much excitement at all to a dirt season.
Kyle Larson said via the High Limit Room podcast.
He isn’t a fan of the winner takes all formats like the majority in the racing community and he is hoping that NASCAR would scrap the system sooner than later. The veteran even joked that he doesn’t want to get in trouble with NASACR over bashing the system.
So, no. No, there will be no playoff or winner-take-all sort of thing. Hopefully, I think, even in NASCAR, I hope we’re done with the winner-take-all, it sounds like. So, yeah, fans don’t have to worry about that. I don’t want to keep going on because I’ll get myself in trouble talking.

The comments from the two times Cup champion resonates with the majority of the Cup garage and everyone knows the sport needs to change teb format. It would be interesting to see how everything will play out regarding the championship system in the coming years.
