The Six Kings Slam exhibition event has given tennis fans a chance to witness another Novak Djokovic–Rafael Nadal clash. The third-place match at The Venue in Riyadh is going to be the final time the two greats will play against each other.
The 22-time Grand Slam champion has announced his retirement and will hang up his racket after the Davis Cup, scheduled in November. Djokovic, a year younger than the 38-year-old, has confirmed that he won’t be bidding farewell to the game in the near future and will chase more Grand Slam victories. In the final at the Six Kings Slam, Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner will battle it out to win the $6 million prize money.

Novak Djokovic vs. Rafael Nadal: Match Preview
Novak Djokovic arrived in Riyadh following his defeat to Jannik Sinner in the final of the Shanghai Masters. It was the Serb’s second final of the season after the Wimbledon on the ATP Tour. Sinner was the one who defeated Djokovic in the Six Kings Slam semifinals.
Djokovic is 37-9 on the season without a title on the ATP Tour. He however, clinched his first Olympic gold medal at the Paris Olympics by beating Carlos Alcaraz. At the Grand Slam tournaments this season, Djokovic produced his best at Wimbledon by reaching the final where Alcaraz denied him his record 25th Grand Slam trophy.
In the second semifinal at the Six Kings Slam, it was Alcaraz who defeated Rafael Nadal, in straight sets. Nadal played his first match since the quarterfinal exit in doubles he played with Alcaraz at the Paris Olympics. On the ATP Tour, Nadal was last seen in action at the Nordea Open in Bastad. It was there he advanced to his first final, which he lost to Nuno Borges.
Nadal is struggling a lot due to fitness and form issues as he hasn’t played much since 2023. He is 12-7 on the season.

Novak Djokovic will meet Rafael Nadal for the second time this year. They had previously clashed in the second round of the Paris Olympics, which Djokovic won before bagging the gold medal.
The two tennis greats have locked horns 60 times and Djokovic has a slight upper hand in their head-to-head contest. The Serb has won 31 matches, while Nadal has won 29 of them. As Nadal is not playing at his full potential, Djokovic will enter the match as the favorite.
