Taylor Fritz will take on Novak Djokovic in the third-place match of the Six Kings Slam exhibition tournament in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Both players failed to reach the final after losing in the semi-finals. However, they will now aim to secure third place in the tournament. But, the clash won’t matter much as the tournament is not part of the ATP.
The Six Kings Slam is a competition of the six best tennis players in the men’s circuit. Jack Draper was included in the competition initially but he pulled out after sustaining an injury at the US Open. The tournament organizers then added Stefanos Tsitsipas in place of the injured British No.1.
Tsitsipas crashed out in the opening round after losing to Jannik Sinner in straight sets, while Fritz defeated Alexander Zverev to book his place in the semi-finals. But the American star fell short against a clinical Carlos Alcaraz at the tournament, making it his second consecutive loss against the Spaniard.

Taylor Fritz vs. Novak Djokovic: Match Preview
Taylor Fritz has been in good form since the grass-court season. The American star began the year poorly, crashing out of the Australian Open in the third round and then being knocked out by Daniel Altmaier in the opening match of the French Open. He didn’t reach a tournament final until the Stuttgart Open in June.
But after winning the ATP title in Stuttgart, Fritz got his confidence back on the court. The World No.4 then went on to win the Eastbourne International and reached the semi-finals of the Wimbledon Championship. His last championship match came at the Tokyo Open against Carlos Alcaraz, where he fell to the Spaniard in straight sets.

Novak Djokovic, on the other hand, has focused on Grand Slam tournaments this season than on any other event. The Serbian legend did well to reach the semi-finals of all four major tournaments, but didn’t get to any of the finals. It was the first time since 2017 that he failed to reach a major tournament final on tour.
He took a short break from the tour after reaching the semi-finals of the US Open. The 38-year-old didn’t compete for nearly a month on tour before featuring at the Rolex Shanghai Masters. At the ATP 1000 tournament, he reached the semi-finals but fell to eventual champion Valentin Vacherot in straight sets.
Taylor Fritz vs. Novak Djokovic: Match Prediction
Taylor Fritz and Novak Djokovic were routinely beaten in the semi-finals of the Six Kings Slam, with the exact same score 4-6, 2-6. They are both seeking to make amends for their performances on Saturday (October 18) and at least secure third place in the exhibition tournament. For Fritz, this is obviously an opportunity to finally beat Djokovic in a tennis match on the court.

The American star currently holds a 0-11 head-to-head record against Djokovic on tour. In fact, the last time they faced each other was at the US Open in September, where the Serbian legend defeated him in four sets. He has often found it hard to compete at the level of Djokovic, particularly when it comes to returning the Serbian’s serve properly.
However, this match won’t count for the official ATP head-to-head record, so a victory for Fritz would certainly not be consequential. Nonetheless, Djokovic will hope to win the tie, which will be proof that he can still compete with the best players on tour.
Match Prediction: Novak Djokovic to win in three sets.
