The Dallas Cowboys are currently in a tumultuous situation regarding Dak Prescott‘s contract. There is considerable speculation surrounding his contract status, with no clear plan from the Cowboys to extend it for additional years. As a result, Prescott’s future with the team remains uncertain, even with the team owner’s multiple high promises.
Considering that, Skip Bayless, the veteran analyst and a fan of the Dallas Cowboys, claimed that Jerry Jones is having some issues with Dak Prescott. Skip feels the 81-year-old owner does not believe in Dak Prescott anymore. Hence, he is not clearing the air regarding the contract.
Jerry Jones knows what happened with Zeke and Dak the last time. He got played by both. Jerry Jones does not like to lose negotiations and he ineffectively lost both of them badly. Because both became bad brats because they did not give any bank of bucks... Then Dak Prescott. Jerry did drag his feet, drag his feet because he was not sold in the fourth draft. And not sure, he is going to merit the kind of money he is demanding from me. But in the end, because he just played it out with the franchise tag, and in the second tag, he is going to make $44 million, it is ridiculous.Skip Bayless via Undisputed
Prescott’s future for the upcoming season remains uncertain. While Jerry Jones has consistently praised him, if the quarterback doesn’t get the contract terms he desires, his tenure with the team could come to an end soon.
Jerry Jones has nothing to show for, believes Skip Bayless
Further in his conversation, the veteran analyst noted that Jerry Jones does not have anything to bank on to. He has to pay a lot of money and the possible reason seems unclear to him. The team has not won anything in the last 29 years and the Cowboys manager has had to go through all these.
Jerry finally caved in and paid him market value. It was a whole lot of money he still hooks for and he has nothing to show for. He does not even have an NFC Championship game in the last 29 years. So, the point is...'I do not think he believes fully in Dak Prescott,' and I do not even either.Skip Bayless further added

Also, Dallas can’t make key roster decisions for 2024 until they know Dak Prescott’s contract details. Prescott, in the final year of a four-year, $160 million deal with a $59.5 million cap hit and no-trade/no-tag clause, led the NFL with 36 passing touchdowns last season, giving him significant leverage. It’s ultimately falls on Jones whether he is willing to break the bank for Prescott or goes by what Bayless claims.
