“Welcome Kareem Abdul-Drummond, LA Laker savior!”: Skip Bayless mocks Andre Drummond
Giannis Antetokounmpo and Andre Drummon
The Los Angeles Lakers fell into deep slush ever since LeBron James has been injured. He was ruled out with a sore high right ankle strain. But recently the franchise took a very bold decision. They acquired Andre Drummond out of Cleveland Cavaliers via the mid-season trade. Just as the team was back to winning, Giannis Antetokounmpo and his men stopped their ambitions. Andre Drummond’s debut match also ended in a disappointing result. But this has been a lot open to criticism. Especially with LeBron James hater Skip Bayless. He mocked the entire organization referring to Andre Drummond’s trade.
The Los Angeles Lakers lost to Milwaukee Bucks 112-97 recently, in which the 27-YO Center started the game but could not find any momentum. He ended his night with 4 points, 2 assists and 1 rebounds. This was completely contradictory to his story. Drummond is known for aggressive rebounding. However, his 14 minute off bench was a bit slow. The other Center for Lakers was Montrezl Harrell who hasn’t disappointed. Giannis added a double-double to his name while the main star for Bucks was Jrue Holiday.
Skip Bayless takes shot at Andre Drummond and LA Lakers
The Andre Drummond trade was evidently hyped even before the window opened. But Andre hasn’t lived up to the expectations of the fans. Skip found this a great possibility to hit the Lakers. He said, “Welcome Kareem Abdul-Drummond, Laker saviour!” Bayless started off. “And allow me to say how sorry I feel for this still young man. Because he’s been thrust into a spotlight he does not deserve at this point in his career because he’s done nothing to deserve Laker saviour status.”
Skip criticized Jeanie Buss for comparing Drummond to legendary Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. “And I still say the audacity of Jeanie Buss, and I like Jeanie, but she went completely over the line to post social media pictures comparing her greeting Andre Drummond to her father the great late Dr Jerry Buss and he was welcoming one Kareem Abdul-Jabbar,” he added.
The LA Lakers are desperately in need of win. They are currently 4th in the WC with 30-18 record. If Drummond turns out to be a liability, it would drench the organisation. The team needs to hold on until LeBron and Anthony Davis are back to squad.
