In Short
  • Skip Bayless criticized Micah Parsons for prioritizing culinary school over winning a Super Bowl.
  • Parsons expressed his career aspirations on a podcast, sparking Bayless's claims of him being a 'choker' in games.
  • Aqib Talib supported Bayless, stating that he has earned the right to critique players based on his media experience.

Micah Parsons has managed to start a war of words with none other than Skip Bayless, a journalist who has mastered the art of creating narratives and then backing them with facts.

The Green Bay Packers pass rusher was livid with the former Undisputed analyst after the latter labeled him as a ‘choker’ late in games, and reiterated that he celebrated Parsons’ trade away from his Dallas Cowboys.

Bayless also pointed out that the 26-year-old is a liability on defense. When a professional athlete hears of such criticisms, it is bound to irk them, which explains his foul-mouthed rant while speaking on Funny Marco‘s Open Thoughts podcast.

But typical of the 74-year-old’s nature, he threw down the gauntlet and challenged Micah Parsons to an open debate at a setting of his choice.

Now, when Skip Bayless was back on his day job at The Arena: Gridiron, he detailed why he went into a war of words with the Packers’ star, and why he still believes Parsons is over-hyped.

Funny Marco asked Micah, ‘What do you see yourself doing in 5 years?’ He said, ‘I see myself having graduating from culinary school.’… Micah’s priority is going to cooking school.

Hearing this, his colleague and Super Bowl 50 champion, Aqib Talib, agreed, as he remembered that even though Micah Parsons did talk about coaching high school kids, he did not mention anything about looking forward to winning a Super Bowl.

Skip Bayless does not think Micah Parsons has the guts to face him in a debate

Even though Skip Bayless has continued his attacks on Micah Parsons, the analyst does not believe the Packers star will come out and agree to a debate.

I just don’t think he would frankly have the guts to come and do what I did with Draymond Green. Maybe it’s just his station in life right now, that he’s not there yet.

Bayless said

The longtime Dallas Cowboys fan believes that the pass rusher cannot do what NBA star Draymond Green did with Bayless a while ago, and that is to confront the latter about his criticisms, and then come to a conclusion as to who was wrong.

Bayless believes Micah Parsons has not grown in life that much to have the ability to respond to a critic face-to-face. This could be a stance as the analyst feels he has a lot with which he can respond to anything the Penn State star confronts him about.

The Packers’ star has the entire offseason to respond, as he is recovering from the ACL tear he suffered this past season. But it is unlikely that he would choose to deal with Bayless, as it could affect his image.

Aqib Talib backs Skip Bayless for calling out Micah Parsons

While speaking on The Arena, Skip Bayless’ colleagues, who are all former NFL players, tried to balance Micah Parsons‘ outburst with what their veteran analyst said.

Skip paid his dues in the media, so he can give his opinion about anything. It goes to show you how much people care. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion.

Aqib Talib said

The former cornerback believed that when someone of Bayless’ reputation criticizes a player, it is not sensible to try to attack them back, as their job is to analyze facts and opine about them.

Talib believes his colleague has earned the right to say what he wants, and revealed how many reached out to him asking how Bayless would respond to the five-time Pro Bowler‘s expletives.

The defensive back felt that this proves how popular his colleague is, and also how much respect his analysis is given, especially when he states facts and not just based on prejudice.
