“He is a complimentary star…” Skip Bayless GOES OFF on Paul George’s superstar status after Philly move

Paul George

Amidst the set of narratives of the unfolding NBA free agency trades, Paul George and Klay Thompson have been at the top of the scrutiny. With NBA analysts and TV spokespersons reviewing the decisions that these stars made, a new narrative of Skip Bayless has come out as he mentioned George as a complimentary star.

In his recent telecast of The Skip Bayless Show, he mentioned that he never considered Paul George to be a superstar, rather he was just another star for him. George has played in the NBA for about 14 seasons now and post shoulder injury with the Denver Nuggets his 3-point game has been on the decline from 40% to 33%.

In my view, he is not a superstar, he is just a star and is a really good star and he is a second star or a complimentary star.
Skip Bayless said on his show

George has been struggling to find the rhythm right from his comeback from the injury. He managed to average 41% from the 3-point line last season but the previous seasons have seen the worst of his abilities. Now that he has joined the Philadelphia 76ers and MVP contestant Joel Embiid and young talents like Tyrese Maxey, he is believed to form the next big 3 in the east alongside Embiid and Tyrese.

Paul George no more has the ‘killer wit’, according to Skip Bayless

After calling Paul George a complimentary star, Skip Bayless also mocked him for not having his killer wit anymore. With highlights of George destroying the defense and standing like a wall to the offense, it is evident that in his prime he was a force to reckon with. But in the current scenario, he is just a good all-rounder for any team, at least that’s what Bayless feels.

If you go 4-5 Years back he was such a nice perimeter defender, a steals artist, and on the offense he used to grab the ball and get into rhythm but now he is just not the guy.
Skip Bayless added

George’s game has reportedly been on the decline, with points to prove his peak performance is now history.

There was a time when George used to keep the defenders on the edge, be it midrange field goals or 3-pointers, but now he is just a good player for the team with his stats hovering around the same average every season. He needs to pull back his old game and his killer wit to make a statement that he has still got it.
