The Philadelphia Eagles head to Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on February 9, Sunday for their fifth Super Bowl appearance in history. The Eagles will play the reigning back-to-back champions Kansas City Chiefs in pursuit of their second title ever.
Last Sunday, the Birds defeated the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship. In the lopsided victory, regular season leading rusher Saquon Barkley registered 118 yards rushing on just 15 carries. Meanwhile, quarterback Jalen Hurts ran for three touchdowns, completing 20 of 28 passes for 246 yards and another touchdown coming off a knee injury.
Amidst this, Skip Bayless, the controversial TV personality, gave his predictions of the Super Bowl 2024-25 season. Bayless expressed that Jalen Hurts, who delivered an impressive performance against the Commanders, would once be the Birds’ main man.

In his career, Hurts has led the Eagles to postseason in all of his four seasons as a starter, including a Super Bowl appearance two years ago. In 2024, Hurts started in 15 games, delivering 2,903 passing yards with career best completion rate of 67.8 and 18 touchdowns. He also had 14 rushing TDs from 630 yards on the ground.
Ahead of Super Bowl, Jalen Hurts also touted as a potential SB MVP
Jalen Hurts, former Crimson Tide player and CFB winner, is also being projected as a potential MVP for the Super Bowl LIX in case if he leads Eagles to a title. Stephen A. Smith predicts that the two-time Pro Bowler might be the Super Bowl MVP if he impresses like he did in the conference game.
Smith believes a tactical shift could be the key to an upset in this matchup. So far, they’ve kept Hurts in check during the playoffs, but unleashing him in New Orleans might be the deciding factor for the Birds on February 9.
The Chiefs will be mainly focusing on Saquon Barkley and stop him from making deathly runs. The game plan change could come in handy if Hurts plan to take the strait jacket off once again and be the X Factor in the game.
