With Mike Tomlin leaving his position as the head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, all eyes will shift towards superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers and his future.
After all, the 42-year-old has time and again mentioned that it was Tomlin’s pull that brought him to sign with the Steelers. Otherwise, with the way his career panned out at the New York Jets, he was contemplating retiring.
This past season, Rodgers also mentioned about possibly continuing with the team, as his chemistry with the offensive unit was growing. Now, after his disastrous outing in the Wild Card game, Skip Bayless believes the quarterback should not be playing anymore.
You are probably asking the wrong guy… Everybody I’ve ever been with on TV loved Aaron Rodgers. Thought he was the God, like the GOAT God. I never did. Here is the truth about Aaron Rodgers, he should have retired 4 years ago.
Skip Bayless said on The Arena
The 74-year-old reminded viewers that the four-time league MVP was already ‘washed’ and ‘over the hill’ during his final couple of years with the Green Bay Packers. That is why they moved on from him.

Bayless believes that the only reason the Steelers signed the QB was that they did not have anyone good enough on their roster. Otherwise, they might not have recruited him. With his play in the Wild Card round, there is enough proof that Rodgers is long past his former self and should follow his head coach’s lead and leave the league for good.
Skip Bayless believes Aaron Rodgers’ blame-deflecting self will undermine Steelers
During that Wild Card round, video clips showed Aaron Rodgers dissing his wide receivers. He continued that sentiment in the post-game press conference, and that did not sit well with Skip Bayless.

That’s him, that’s Aaron Rodgers. Blame deflecting, finger-pointing diva. It’s never his fault, it’s always everybody else’s fault, and last night was everybody else’s fault. Does he want to play again? I believe with all his heart and soul, he wants to come back and steal some more money from the Steelers.
Skip Bayless said
The Oklahoma native reiterated that the Pittsburgh Steelers’ situation is making it lucrative for someone like Rodgers to go in and fleece them for millions of dollars every year.
They are a playoff team, which means they are not in a position to draft a top QB prospect. If they continue to play the likes of Aaron Rodgers, Bayless believes the mediocrity will continue, and still the QB will continue to blame the others.
Aaron Rodgers continues to take shots at the Jets
As Aaron Rodgers wraps up his 21st season in the league, he continues to be grateful to the Pittsburgh Steelers for helping him continue his career. During his post-game press conference, he praised them, and one other former team.
I was fortunate to play in an incredible football city for 18 years. I never took it for granted… This has been a beautiful back end to that… There’s only a few very special places in the league that have the tradition, the town, the organization, and I’m thankful to have played for two of them.
Aaron Rodgers told reporters
This was the California Golden Bear’s analysis of how good his time was with the Steelers and the Packers. That could be another way of saying that his time with the New York Jets was not something worth talking about.

This is not the first time Rodgers has openly trolled the Jets, and it might not be the last, as he firmly believes it was a time of his life that he probably wishes he were not a part of.
