“Miss You” – Skip Bayless Pens Surprising Message To Nemesis LeBron James

The Lakers were expected to make a deep playoff run after adding Luka Doncic at the trade deadline, but they fell short—and Skip Bayless couldn’t help but take to X to share his oddly timed LeBron nostalgia.

As the 2025 NBA Finals get underway, Skip Bayless finally tells the world that he misses his favorite person to bash on, LeBron James. For several reasons, James is adored by the NBA community. His MVPs, his titles, his magnificence, etc. However, Bayless misses him for the complete opposite of this. Even in a tribute to James, Bayless did not miss the chance to throw shade at him.

The Los Angeles Lakers were tipped to reach at least the Western Conference Finals with the roster they possessed. However, that did not happen. Despite acquiring Luka Doncic in the February deadline, James and the Lakers failed to make an impact in the NBA Playoffs. Bayless, on the other hand, took to his X to showcase how much he uncannily misses James.

Miss you, LeBron – miss your theatrics, your melodramatic subplots, your 4th-quarter disappearances.

The King, at his age, vying for his fifth ring, would have attracted a lot of spectators, as the league is run by his stories. That was not allowed to happen, as the Anthony Edwards-led Minnesota Timberwolves knocked them out in the opening round. For James, a huge question lies ahead: give it another shot next season or hang up his sneakers.

As of yet, no one knows what James is considering regarding his basketball future. His agent and dear friend, Rich Paul, also stated that he is unsure of James‘ decision regarding the upcoming 2025-26 NBA season with the Lakers.

If James does choose to return, he will also have to decide if he wants to stay with the Lakers. James has a $52 million NBA player option for the 2025–2026 season. If he accepts that offer, he will remain with the Lakers; if he opts out, he will become a free agent.

Not the first time Skip Bayless has ‘missed’ LeBron James

Skip Bayless literally went through a similar situation with LeBron James back in 2021. When James and Co. were knocked out by the Phoenix Suns in the playoffs, Bayless made his thoughts clear about James. Being one of the biggest haters of the Lakers’ star is not an easy task. However, Bayless knows exactly how to balance it even if James is not making the headlines.

In 2021, Skip Bayless wrote on X, “I miss LeBron.”

People were anxious to find out if his account had been compromised back then. It seemed as though the NBA world had been waiting for something like this since maybe the beginning of Bayless’ career. It’s safe to say that Bayless did tweet about James.

Ever since then, there have been many moments where Bayless has praised James (something that is still unusual) over the years. But even in those remarks, he has always found ways to criticize the Lakers’ great in different ways.

LeBron James’ agent Rich Paul shed some light on his client’s uncertain future

This offseason, LeBron James has to make a big decision. Should the 40-year-old wait another year or is he prepared to permanently give up sneakers? James has yet to address the inquiries about his future. Rich Paul, his agent and close friend, however, provided his take on James’s uncertain future in a recent appearance on the Rich Eisen show.

Normally, our process is you kinda weight everything and see how he’s feeling and all those type of things. Same process it’s been for the last I don’t know how many years. He’ll come around to what he’s thinking at some point and we’ll kinda go over some things and go from there.

Now, one would have to consider the age factor when it comes to James’ retirement plans. Despite the star not looking unfit on the court, his body is not young anymore. Anyway, James has yet to make a decision that could make waves in and around the NBA community if he chooses to retire before the next season.
