Skip Bayless urges Jerry Jones to make a ‘Splash Move’ involving Dak Prescott and Shedeur Sanders
Skip Bayless believes that the Cowboys need the shock factor and Jerry Jones can do that by signing a big name player in the off season or trading away Dak Prescott.

The Dallas Cowboys and Jerry Jones have been very frugal in spending cash during free agency in the last few years. Long-time Cowboys fanatic Skip Bayless wants Jones to break the chain and splash the cash so that the Dallas franchise doesn’t fall behind its divisional rivals, the Washington Commanders and the Philadelphia Eagles.
Jones recently announced that they will not be aggressive in the offseason, drawing the ire of the Cowboys nation. Bayless wants the opposite. The veteran sports analyst advised Jones to go all in and make big moves, improving the team.
It’s time for Jerry Jones and Stephen Jones to figure out on how to make a splash.
Skip Bayless said during a recent segment of his show
There’s nothing new about Cowboys fans asking Jones to either pay the key players like Micah Parsons or bring in quality players via trade or through free agency. Bayless wants Jones to take the trade route, involving quarterback Dak Prescott.
They made Dak [Prescott] the highest paid player in pro football… Is there a way to trade him? Somebody take him off your hands for nothing?
Skip Bayless asked
Bayless wants the Cowboys to draft ex-Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders.
Is there a way to go up and get Shedeur? Is there a way?
Skip Bayless added
From Bayless’ point of view, the Cowboys must utilize the shock factor the way the Eagles did by signing RB Saquon Barkley from the Giants and the Commanders by drafting Heisman trophy winner Jayden Daniels and signing Pro Bowl receiver Deebo Samuel from the 49ers.
Bayless accused Jones of harboring mediocrity by keeping the players who only managed a 7-10 season.
Go get somebody who matters, who sends a message to your locker room that we are serious now. This is serious business. We are going to do that and that and that… Do something Jerry.

Can Jerry Jones and the Cowboys realistically trade Dak Prescott?
No, the Cowboys can’t trade Dak Prescott, not after the continuous changes and restructures to his contract. The Pro Bowler has a no-trade clause in his contract that prevents the Cowboys from exploring that route.

Moreover, the most recent restructure to Dak’s contract freed up nearly $37 million in cap space that should give Jones enough money to make at least one big signing. However, the issue is that they need players in several positions, and singling out the most important one will be a big undertaking for the brass.
The one area that the Cowboys must take a look at is replacing the retired Zack Martin at right guard. TJ Bass can move up the charts, but do the Cowboys trust him enough to upgrade his status? That remains to be seen.
One positive outcome so far for the Cowboys has been the extension of defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa for four years at $80 million.
According to Cowboys beat writer Brandon Lore, they will also be on the lookout for a new receiver to partner with CeeDee Lamb. Some of the heavyweights have already found new homes. The Seahawks traded DK Metcalf to the Steelers, and Davante Adams signed with the Rams. The two big-name receivers that could end up in Dallas are Cooper Kupp and Tyler Lockett, who was released by the Seahawks earlier this month.
