While the Buffalo Bills quarterback is already tasked with the huge responsibility of defeating his biggest rival in the AFC championship and avoiding the record for the most postseason losses, Skip Bayless has burdened Josh Allen with another layer of responsibility. As the quarterback prepared to face off against Patrick Mahomes, the Fox Sports analyst urged him to save Tom Brady’s legacy.
The Kansas City Chiefs are aiming for a historic three-peat, and many believe if they win, the legendary Brady will be dethroned from the title of Greatest of All Time by Mahomes. That’s why, Bayless made the peculiar request from Allen, believing that Mahomes isn’t close to earning the prominence of GOAT in the league.
They're calling it the Arrowhead Invitational, and as a New England Patriots fan, you've got to respect greatness when it comes to Patrick Mahomes and his team. While many are confident in Mahomes to surpass the seven-time Super Bowl champion’s legacy, Bayless is among those who are hooked on the ongoing controversy about the Chiefs getting undue advantages from the officials. And if the elite quarterback succeeded this season in achieving his third consecutive Super Bowl victory, it’s highly likely to dethrone the former NFL quarterback as he has never been able to achieve a three-peat in his 22 seasons playing in the NFL.
Josh Allen must prove himself by overcoming Patrick Mahomes
While talking about the AFC showdown, Bayless demanded the Bills change their fate and make sure not to lose against the Chiefs for the fourth time. Despite how glorious their record is against the conference rival in the regular season, Allen needs to prove his capability by destroying the Chiefs in the playoffs and now is the time for it.
Bayless believes the Chiefs’ star quarterback is “overrated,” given the fact his stats are nowhere close to being in the MVP conversation, whereas his upcoming opponent is the frontrunner. And if there’s any quarterback in the AFC holding an impressive record against the Mahomes is Allen, making the upcoming matchup even more thrilling.
