Skip Bayless would be FIRED after a month if he slandered Michael Jordan like LeBron James

Gilbert Arenas claims Skip Bayless would not be able to slander Michael Jordan the way he does to LeBron James in the NBA GOAT debate.

LeBron James against Michael Jordan in the NBA GOAT has made Skip Bayless' career

With the GOAT debate raging on, it is evident that fans and media are divided on who between LeBron James and Michael Jordan is the best. Those part of the old media, such as Skip Bayless, are constantly engaged in slandering the Los Angeles Lakers superstar. Especially, after he made his case to be the best. Former player, Gilbert Arenas thinks they could not do the same during the times of Jordan.

The former All-Star was discussing the GOAT debate along with his panel members on the show Gil’s Arena. While explaining the media bias, he said:

The media we have today didn't exist then. You did not talk down on Michael Jordan's name, or your a** was gone. Skip Bayless, what he’s done to LeBron 22 years, he wouldn’t have had no job past the first month. That don't exist now. There was no making a career off of Michael Jordan slander.

Gilbert Arenas was clear that the likes of Skip Bayless could not do what they are doing now back in the day. Else he would have struggled to keep his job.

In a sense, the logic is correct. As Michael Jordan was the most important name in sports, let alone basketball, everyone wanted to celebrate him. He claimed that whenever news flashed that a Chicago Bulls game was on, everybody dropped everything to watch him play. The media chatter and articles fed off that.

In contrast, now they have the freedom to write and say anything about LeBron James. Like how Skip Bayless has been doing for the 21 years the Los Angeles Lakers superstar has been in the NBA. In fact, many others say, Bayless’ attacks on James helped him make his career.

Skip Bayless is unemployed but isn’t done

Skip Bayless has officially left FS1 and the show Undisputed. What happens to the future of the show is unknown as it heads into its season break. The consistent decline in viewership was a concerning reason, especially after Shannon Sharpe left for ESPN.

But that should take nothing away from the fact that the 72-year-old is still one of the better broadcasters the media world has seen. That said, Bayless is now a free agent. What the future holds for him is unknown, especially with the likes of ESPN already shutting their doors on a potential return.

But that said, he has his own show called The Skip Bayless Show. He also teased about a major announcement soon. Whatever that is, there is no doubt the long-time analyst will continue with his takes on LeBron James and the NBA GOAT debate.
