Skyesports has partnered with Riot Games to bring the Skyesports Champions Series (SCS) 2022, a top-level Valorant league in South Asia that leads into the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) 2022 Stage 2. This championship will act as a South Asia Qualifier to the VCT Stage 2 APAC Challenger.

Skyesports has been setting new standards for Valorant eSports in the country by organizing the first-ever Valorant LAN tournament in the country and now inking a partnership with the game’s publisher, Riot Games for a qualifying tournament to VCT Stage 2 APAC Challenger. Skyesports Champions Series 2022: Road to VCT Stage 2 APAC Challenger

The Skyesports Champions Series 2022 has a total prize pool of $30,000 and its last stage will happen as a LAN event in Chennai, India. The tournament will happen across the months of May and June in three phases. These are as follows:

VCT APAC Stage 2 2022
  • Phase 1: Open Qualifiers for India and the Rest of South Asia
  • Phase 2: Group Stage League
  • Phase 3: Playoffs

Skyesports will be hosting a Draw Show before Phase 2 (Group Stage League) to divide the 12 teams into two groups of six teams each. In the Group Stage League, the teams will compete in a single-robin format. The top three teams from each group will make it to the playoffs. Phase 3 will be the playoffs in which the six teams will face-off in a double-elimination bracket to
crown the South Asian champion.

Registration and qualifying process

Players can register for the Skyesports Champions Series 2022 on the official website of the company. It is important to note that the registrations have gone live today and will conclude on May 7th. This includes India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri
Lanka, Maldives, and Bangladesh. The registrars will compete across two open qualifiers that will be held separately for India and the Rest of South Asia.

Two teams from the Indian qualifier and two teams from the South Asian qualifier will advance to Phase 2 (Group Stage League), where they will face off against eight invited teams from the previous South Asian Qualifiers’ Playoff Stage. The invited teams are-

  • Enigma Gaming
  • Team Exploit
  • God Particles
  • Exceeli Esports
  • Khumbu Esports
  • Union Gaming
