CM Punk has been on a hot streak in WWE. Following a successful 2024, The Best in the World began the new year with a monumental victory over his arch-rival Seth Rollins. While Punk’s year is off to a strong start, the same can’t be said for his wrestling daughters, Cora Jade and Roxanne Perez, who suffered tough losses at NXT’s New Year’s Evil last night in Los Angeles.
CM Punk took to Instagram to reshare a story from Cora Jade, where she and Roxanne Perez appeared disheartened after their losses. In contrast, The Best in the World was smiling from ear to ear. Punk captioned the post, explaining that his smile came from being incredibly proud of his wrestling daughters. He commended them for fighting with everything they had in the ring, regardless of the result.
While Cora Jade performed valiantly for an opportunity at the Women’s North American Championship, she failed to prevail at New Year’s Evil. On the other hand, Roxanne Perez dropped her NXT Women’s Championship to Giulia after a stellar 276-day reign. However, both stars received warm receptions for their incredible performance at the event.
The Best in the World regularly praises his wrestling daughters for their hard work and dedication. It seems he is offering support to Jade and Perez during what might be the toughest losses of their careers. However, The Prodigy is likely to be called up to the main roster after the Royal Rumble later this month. As for Jade, she may pursue the NXT Championship for a while.
CM Punk talked about starting his own wrestling promotion
CM Punk has been a controversial figure throughout his wrestling career, facing challenges such as his fallout with WWE and later his issues with The Elite and AEW. These incidents have shaped him into the professional wrestling veteran he is today. Given his wealth of experience, he was recently asked if he would consider starting his own promotion in the future.
Speaking on Night Cap, The Second City Saint denied any aspirations of starting his own wrestling promotion. He explained that it would be a bad idea for him to launch one, as his managerial skills are not suited for such an endeavor. In fact, he stated that starting a promotion is the worst idea he could imagine for his future.
Furthermore, Punk added that his goal is to leave a lasting legacy by giving back to the world of professional wrestling. As such, he hopes to help develop young talents during the twilight years of his career. Additionally, Punk is often speculated as a potential candidate to replace Shawn Michaels in NXT. It will be interesting to see how the future unfolds for The Best in the World.
