16-year old Spanish starlet Lamine Yamal, who has been making headlines, has emerged as the talk of the town, after images of the player studying from his room at the Euros surfaced online.

The Barcelona prodigy who recently set a European record for being the youngest player to feature in the Euros, has been all over the footballing world. A La Masia product, Lamine has made more than 50 appearances for the Blaugrana and eight appearances for the Spanish national side. Due to his excellent dribbling, passing and chance-creating abilities, the 16-year old has been compared to his predecessor at Barcelona, Lionel Messi.

Having been called upon to play for the national team at the Euros in Germany, Yamal revealed that he carried his school work along with him to the tournament. The talented young lad is still in school, finishing the last year of Spain’s compulsory secondary education. Recent photos, which garnered significant attention on social media, show Lamine studying a subject online, on an iPad in his room.

Moreover, in an interview some time back, Yamal, had mentioned that mathematics and history are two subjects which he found most challenging. He noted that he would still need to complete assignments and exams despite his football commitments.

Lamine Yamal and Arda Guler are among the young stars to look out for at the 2024 Euros

Spain’s 16-year old Lamine Yamal and Turkey’s Arda Guler will be among the many players to look out for at the 2024 European Champions in Germany. Apart from these two teenagers, German youngsters Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz will also be crucial players.

Besides them, there are numerous other young talents aiming to make an impact on the international stage. Among them are Netherlands’ Xavi Simons and Joshua Zirkzee, Spain’s Nico Williams, Italy’s Riccardo Calafiori and Andrea Cambiaso, England’s Cole Palmer and Kobbie Mainoo, France’s Zaire-Emery and Bradley Barcola, Belgium’s Jeremy Doku, Lois Openda, De Ketelaere, and Zeno Debast, as well as Portugal’s Joao Neves and Francisco Conceicao.
