In trying to continue producing exceptional entertainment for its fans, the NFL roped in rapper Snoop Dogg to helm this year’s Christmas Day Halftime show.

The league had scheduled three games to draw in more fans than the NBA could, despite being their staple for a very long time. Last season, Roger Goodell‘s master stroke proved to be a resounding success.

This year, when they created the schedule, it was evident that the league wanted to continue utilizing its star players to draw fans, but also lining up smaller market teams to give them better exposure.

Even though the plan was intentional, the recent spate of injuries and lackluster form of some of the teams had many believing the league was going to lose steam, especially with the NBA’s sudden resurgence of fan interest.

Enter Snoop Dogg and a lineup of varied artists to try to save the day, which they did in front of the fans at the Minnesota Vikings’ U.S. Bank Stadium. The rap great started off with the iconic The Next Episode, which he co-created with Dr. Dre.

Surprisingly, he brought in an orchestra to play along to his songs. After leading a choir group and a ballad set, the 54-year-old handed it off to K-Pop Demon Hunters.

Snoop Dogg continued with his hits before then introducing country singer Lainey Wilson, who sang her version of ‘Santa Claus is Coming to Town‘. To end it all was the father-son duo of Andrea and Matteo Bocelli with a beautiful rendition of ‘White Christmas‘.

Fans demand NFL replace Bad Bunny with Snoop Dogg

As soon as the Christmas Day Halftime Show was over, football fans took to social media to point out to the NFL that this was what they wanted in a Super Bowl Halftime show. Ever since the league announced that Bad Bunny was to perform in Super Bowl LX, the barbarians have been at the gates, demanding that the rapper not be allowed to perform.

This time, they had proof and commented, demanding that Roger Goodell sign Snoop Dogg to lead a Halftime Show with the variety of performers that were present in Minnesota. Check out examples of those reactions below.

Some fans pointed out that Netflix might have played a big role in the success of the 2025 Christmas Day Halftime Show. They have the creative genius to understand what fans want, as well as the budget to bring in whomever they want.

Last season, Beyonce headlined the show, and even though the ratings were not conclusive, the performance was a major hit. It seems the NFL’s attempts to pry away NBA fans may have contributed to those numbers.

NFL needs a big performance from Bad Bunny in Super Bowl LX Halftime Show

Other than Snoop Dogg’s Halftime show, the NFL’s 2025 Christmas Day schedule was pretty much a drab affair. The problem the league will face come Super Bowl LX is that this situation could continue.

It so happens that with the likes of Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs out of playoff contention, Levi’s Stadium will likely feature unheralded players and teams participating in February.

The league’s injury calamity is a concern, but they cannot do anything about it, at least for the upcoming ‘Greatest Show on Earth.’ That leaves the entertainment value of the championship game in the hands of the Halftime Show.

With the decision to rope in Bad Bunny to perform already facing a lot of heat, the Puerto Rico native will have a tough time trying to win over the divided fan base.
