Music industry legend Snoop Dogg has been giving his highkey energy at the Paris Olympics as a special correspondent for NBC. He has taken to his job by heart as a USA hype man ever since the Opening Ceremony. The energy and charisma of the rapper bring an extra layer of flair to the Olympic coverage.
As reported by henrylmcnamara via X, he gets $500k a day, which doesn’t even include the additional expenses. The user revealed that he sat next to an NBC exec at dinner who disclosed that Snoop Dogg gets $500k per day. In addition to other expenses to be there to promote the Olympic Games.
Snoop Dogg has charmed everybody with his comedic commentary and lively presence. The rapper has also enjoyed being in his element and mingling with the participants’ families. NBC commentator Lester Holt called him an ‘Olympic star’ after stating that one doesn’t need a medal to be one. Dogg even shared the clip on his X account.
While the job was a little unusual for the rapper, the fans were forced to wonder how much he was being paid. After all, the Olympic Games were not a cheap deal to crack. Allegedly, NBC Universal paid a whopping $7.65 billion to secure the rights to televise the Games all the way through 2032. Having stars like Snoop Dogg brings more attention and viewership to the coverage.
Snoop Dogg has his own Olympic Pin
Currently, all attention is on the ongoing Paris Olympics. Much of the credit would go to Snoop Dogg. The rapper has been responsible for taking headlines left and right. Now, he’s hitting the news because he has his own Olympic pin.
The International Tennis Federation (ITF) revealed the Snoop Dogg pin on social media. The pin featured Dogg blowing smoke rings in the colors of the Olympics. They also mentioned that tennis star Coco Gauff had also got a Snoop Dogg pin.
The rapper has had a huge role in the increased viewership for the Summer Olympics in Paris. The viewership blew past the 2021 Tokyo Games, and the opening ceremony scored a bigger audience than Rio did in 2016. There is no questioning that Snoop Dogg has been all the buzz on social media lately.
