USA’s Chloe Kim is a snowboarder, who is the youngest female Olympic gold medal winner in this sport. Born on April 23, 2000, Kim clinched this outstanding feat at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea when she won in the women’s snowboard halfpipe at the age of just 17 years.

The Long Beach, California native Kim has an origin from South Korea where her parents were born. She started on a snowboard at the age of four at the Southern California resort of Mountain High and commenced competing after a couple of years as a member of Team Mountain High. The talented youngster later travelled to train in Geneva, Switzerland and joined the American Snowboarding Team in 2013.
