‘So glad I don’t have to read tweets about running from Santos’, Jon Jones commented on Thiago Santos’s loss
At UFC Vegas 13 main event, Glover Teixeira created a major upset by defeating Thiago Santos. After this win, Glover received a lot of appreciations from many of the UFC fighters, but the main of them was from Jon Jones who already defeated both of them and especially Santos against whom he won by the judge’s decision.
Jones first faced Teixeira in 2014 where he beat him convincingly in a one-sided contest but back in 2019 when he faced Thiago Santos at UFC 239 he had a really tough time in the Octagon. Although he won the fight by split decision but it was rather controversial as some of the UFC pundits scored the fight in favor of Santos.
After that, a lot of fingers get pointed towards Jones that he is avoiding the rematch against Santos. But with Glover beating him with ease in the match at UFC Vegas 13, Jones is happy to claim that he is better than Santos. He says, “So glad I don’t have to read tweets about running from Santos, If he would’ve won everyone would be talking mad trash tonight”.
Jones praised Teixeira for his exceptional performance
Jon Jones was very impressed by the way Teixeira registered a win in this fight over Thiago Santos. He says “I’m proud to have beat this guy, I like him” referring to his win against him in 2014. In another Tweet, Jonny Bones says, “Glovers the new goat”.
With this Jones hailed Teixeira as the new G.O.A.T of UFC and stated that he will no longer listen to the criticism about running away from Santos. Jones has vacated his Light-heavyweight title earlier this year and is training to make a comeback in the Heavyweight division.
