The Bloodline regained some traction at Backlash last weekend as Solo Sikoa had former NJPW star Jeff Cobb up his sleeve, and no one saw it coming. It is a storyline that has new faces popping out of nowhere. Cobb went straight after LA Knight, who eventually succumbed to Jacob Fatu in a Fatal 4-Way match for the US title. As the trio was heading backstage, the cameras captured Fatu all riled up after the exploits.

But it seems like The Samoan Werewolf’s catchphrase spree made Sikoa chuckle, as one could see in the following clip. The former Tribal Chief was caught hiding his smile behind his newest recruit, Cobb. However, Sikoa didn’t take long to get back to sporting a nonchalant look and uttered, “I told you, I got a game plan too.” That being said, the 32-year-old finally has some backup by his side.

Sikoa’s woes started the moment his former enforcer Fatu grew apart from him. They’ve had so many arguments in recent months, but have managed to remain a cohesive unit. Many fans believe that the inevitable breakup isn’t far away.

If that happens, there is a definite possibility of a face turn for Fatu. A babyface Fatu is likely the direction that the WWE wants regarding The Samoan Werewolf in the long run. The split will likely be impacted by Jeff Cobb.

Fatu wasn’t elated when the 42-year-old Hawaiian wrestler came to his aid at Backlash. The reigning US Champion gave a confused look and was almost like he didn’t need Cobb’s help to retain the title. The dynamics between Fatu and Cobb are going to be interesting, with Sikoa supposedly playing the middleman gimmick moving forward.

Solo Sikoa’s work as The Bloodline boss didn’t go unnoticed by Paul Heyman

Solo Sikoa might be holding his version of The Bloodline together, but he’s barely had the spotlight on him of late. At one point, there were plans for him to face Jacob Fatu at WrestleMania 41. However, that obviously didn’t happen, and the once-envisioned Tribal Heir instead accompanied his former enforcer to the ring at The Show of Shows. The majority of the fans believe that Fatu brings everything to the table that WWE was seeking from Sikoa.

Paul Heyman, who’s served as Sikoa’s manager, though for a short term, believed that The Street Champion was deserving of the respect for carrying forward the Bloodline saga after WrestleMania XL. Once Roman Reigns went on a hiatus after losing to Cody Rhodes, the onus was on Sikoa to continue making the moves and assemble a rogue Bloodline that would go on to oppose Reigns’ OG Bloodline in the future.

Heyman regarded Sikoa as the single most improved performer in the company in that one-year phase. The former Tribal Chief also main evented last year’s SummerSlam PLE, where he lost to Rhodes after The OTC made his epic return. After that, Sikoa segued into a storyline with Reigns. It culminated when he lost the battle of Ula Fala to The Head of the Table on Raw’s Netflix debut.

What’s next for Jacob Fatu after Backlash?

Now that Jacob Fatu has pocketed his first US title defense against three worthy contenders at Backlash, he’s craving more. The former NWA Champion, though successful at Backlash, pinning LA Knight, didn’t necessarily need to come to blows with Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest.

They could press for a rematch against The Samoan Werewolf on this week’s SmackDown. However, both McIntyre and Priest had their fair share of injuries coming out of the PLE. The Scot’s head hit hard on the concrete floor after a South of Heaven chokeslam from The Street King went overboard.

McIntyre, however, was said to be doing fine. Priest picked up a dental injury during the course of the match, which is supposedly more serious than McIntyre’s. It’d be interesting to see if both of these stars miss any TV time.
