“Somebody that lives to play basketball it’s Klay” Draymond Green
Golden State Warriors’ Draymond Green talks about his teammate Klay Thompson and the latter’s importance in the franchise. Green praised Thompson and called him the true definition to be a Warrior. Thompson might be out for the entire 2020-21 season also after the entire previous season as well. Last season the Dubs were without Draymond Green, Klay Thompson and talisman Stephen Curry. As a result, to which they recorded their worst season finishing last in the Western Conference.
But this season sees the return of Stephen Curry and Draymond Green. Not only them but to fill the vacant scoring spot of Thompson, Warriors have added James Wiseman and Kelly Oubre Jr. To their roster. With the aim of playing a crucial supporting role alongside Stephen Curry.
“Embodies Everything to be called a Warrior” Draymond Green on Klay Thompson
Green said, “It’s hurtful because I know how much he loves and leans on the game of basketball. When you’re talking about somebody that lives to play basketball, it’s Klay. Klay is the guy that you just randomly see, and he’s there just doing this (gestures a shot), like working on his shot without a ball. There isn’t a ball or a basketball court in sight, but he’s there just sitting and doing this.”
However, Green was sure that Klay Thompson would recover. He even gave him high praise calling him the true definition of a Warrior in every sense of the word. He said, “So, you know, it just sucks to see that taken away from him again. Nonetheless, I think if there’s anybody that can come back from two catastrophic injuries, and come back strong, either at that same level or better, I think it’s him. You know, Klay, he embodies everything it means to be a Warrior, no pun intended. I think we all know how tough Klay is. He’s tough as nails. So, like I said, if there’s anybody that can do it, it’s him.”
Having said that, it remains to be seen whether or not the Dubs are able to do well in this season or not. They start their season playing against their former marquee player Kevin Durant’s Brooklyn Nets.
