WWE recently aired the first 2021 episode of Smackdown. One of the biggest surprise of the episode, was the return of Sonya Deville to WWE. Deville has not been seen on WWE TV since WWE’s Summerslam.

During the episode of Smackdown, Deville was shown walking backstage. The commentators, Michael Cole and Corey Graves announced that Deville has been reinstated by WWE. Deville is officially back on the Blue brand.

Deville had to leave WWE after her match at Summerslam. She faced her former bestfriend Mandy Rose in a “Loser leaves WWE” match.

Deville was booked to lose the match, as she was coping with a real-life stalker incident. A stalker had broken into her house with the intention of abducting her. Her match with Rose at Summerslam was initially supposed to be a “Hair vs Hair” match. But was changed to support Deville’s ongoing personal crisis then.

While Sonya Deville was shown walking backstage, WWE commentator mentioned that Deville has been reinstated. With Rose being on the Raw roster, and Deville on Smackdown, their feud is unlikely to be continued.

Prior to her absence from WWE, a title run for Deville was being planned. With WWE Royal Rumble just around the corner, it could be the perfect opportunity to get Deville back in the Title scene.

Royal Rumble airs live on 31st January,  2021.
