Most fans who adore Caitlin Clark believe she has proved in many ways that she can do a lot of things the right way. Her teammate Sophie Cunningham has spent a full year with the star and knows what she can and cannot do.
For instance, the latter was with the point guard when she returned to The Annika Pro/Am golf tournament and watched her hold her own against professional golfers. Then there were times during the season when it became evident that Clark is great at using humor and her ability to troll anyone, including herself, to make those around her feel at ease.
Cunningham also witnessed how her teammate easily disintegrated notions that the two-time All-Star is a pompous, self-obsessed athlete who has an ego that goes along with her fame.
Considering all those aspects, fans would feel that anything Caitlin Clark touches turns into gold. However, the Missouri native believes there is one thing her younger teammate should not do.
A 1000% Caitlin. She is a s**t starter, and so she would definitely start some stuff on there.

This answer was in response to a Front Office Sports question as to who Sophie Cunningham would think of as the last person to run her social media pages.
It seems the 29-year-old knows her teammate all too well to know that Clark, as one of the biggest trolls in the league, can start some things that might end up biting Cunningham.
Sophie Cunningham hopes fans learn more about WNBA players
Caitlin Clark did manage to change myths around her, and so did some players who were at the 2025 WNBA All-Star weekend parties, thanks to Studbudz’s live streams.

However, not everyone was fortunate to be a part of it, and fans continued to believe that some players certainly had animosity towards others. Sophie Cunningham believes there is a way for fans to change that perception.
When people see us competing and trying to fight to do anything it takes to win, because this is a hard, hard league, that they automatically think that’s what you’re like off the court. People need to get to know us players more. I think if they do, they fall in love with us.

The Missouri star reiterated that fans should not judge WNBA players’ characters based on what they see happening on the court. That is completely to fight for their jobs, as it is difficult for players to stay in the league.
She believes players might be fighting others during a game, but off it, they are completely different. This opinion echoes what many others have been talking about over the past few years.
Sophie Cunningham names her dream luxury purchase
Just like almost three-quarters of the league, Sophie Cunningham is also a free agent heading into next season. As and when the next CBA gets approved, she will be looking to at least quadruple her last paycheck.
She has previously talked about how she hopes the Indiana Fever will bring her back on a good contract, as she hopes to buy a house. But that is not her dream purchase, as she revealed to Front Office Sports.
I think I want a boat.

The 6′ 1″ guard believes she already spends too much money, to which her older sister, who was standing behind the camera, was probably nodding her head in disagreement.
Getting a boat would be her dream luxury purchase, as that would make her genuinely happy. She might have to wait a while to know if she can afford one soon, as the WNBA has pushed the CBA’s deadline to the end of this month.
