Ever since Sophie Cunningham became teammates and close friends with Caitlin Clark, her popularity has exponentially increased along with her endorsements and brand affiliations.

What really took it a step beyond her imagination was when the 28-year-old manhandled Jacy Sheldon in the game against the Connecticut Sun. Once fans understood that Cunningham was Clark’s unofficial enforcer, they started to chant her name.

The Missouri star’s social media accounts ballooned overnight, and brands started calling her phone right after the game. Adidas, Arby’s, Ring, and others have come forward to make her their brand ambassador.

On their recent road trip to the West Coast, Cunningham and teammate Lexie Hull took pictures of themselves in their bikinis sunbathing in Los Angeles. The 28-year-old captioned the photo, asking if any swimsuit brands were interested in collaborating with the Fever duo.

To this, Caitlin Clark replied with a troll post, asking those brands to tell her two teammates to focus on basketball. While on her newly launched podcast, ‘Show me Something‘, Sophie Cunningham decided to address that post.

I’m going to kill her. Dude, you are ruining me and Lexi’s deals… She stays trolling me and Lexi.

The 6-year veteran added that 5 brands had reached out. Had Caitlin Clark said trolled them anymore, there was a risk of ruining those potential deals.

To silence their superstar teammate, Cunningham clapped back, reminding Clark that it was she and Hull who were playing and needed a break. Clark, being injured, was not one to tell them about playing.

Sophie Cunningham and Lexie Hull have become Caitlin Clark’s closest friends

When Caitlin Clark came into the WNBA, fellow young players Aliyah Boston and Lexie Hull were her closest teammates. Then, as the season progressed, it became clear that Hull was the closest of the lot, followed by then-teammate Katie Lou Samuelson.

The latter has since left the team, and her place has been filled by Sophie Cunningham. The Missouri native has christened the trio as ‘Tres Leches’, after the dessert.

The trio have since been close and often do things together when away from their team duties. Hull and Cunningham are also Clark’s sounding board, especially as she continues her recovery from her groin injury.

Hopefully, Sophie Cunningham re-signs with the team ahead of next season, as the superstar point guard usually prefers to have those close to her around her.

Sophie Cunningham clears up DeWanna Bonner battle in Phoenix

Sophie Cunningham was one of the veteran players the Indiana Fever brought in before the start of the season. The franchise had also brought in DeWanna Bonner, but that experiment lasted all of 9 games.

The 37-year-old left the team and signed with the Phoenix Mercury. Regarding that exit, Cunningham said on her podcast that Bonner had been unprofessional and did not leave a message for her former teammates.

That, along with their previous win over the Mercury, seemed to play a part in the blowout loss the Fever suffered. Cunningham addressed the issue and clarified what caused that reaction.

There was a little bit of beef, maybe due to our last podcast… I told her she didn’t listen to the whole clip, she just saw the thing about she could’ve handled it more professional. Honestly, everyone that’s talked to me besides their team has said yeah, she could’ve… That team’s just drama to me.

The 28-year-old then went on to say how that had played its part when she and Bonner tangled during a play. It also led the 2-time champion to talk trash to other Fever players throughout the game. But it seems it was just a case of not fully listening to what Cunningham said.
