Southampton vs Newcastle UTD: Southampton took on Newcastle in the Premier League and lost the game 1-2 to the 14th placed side.
Stuart Armstrong got the first goal of the game in the 25th minute after heading in from close range. The Magpies equalized quickly via Chris Wood’s trademark header in the 32nd minute. New signing Bruno Guimares gave Newcastle the lead in the 52nd minute with a brilliant backheel flick. Newcastle held on to secure all three points.

Fraser Forster (6/10): Made just the one save and maybe could have done better for the Guimaraes goal.. His distribution was very poor.
Walker-Peters (6.6/10): Walker-Peters did well to create the initial chance that led to the goal but his defensive side was weak today.
Jan Bednarek (6.5/10): He had a good game in defence except when he lost his man for the goal.
Mohammed Salisu (7.2/10): Made a good goal line clearance. Saw a lot of the ball but some of his long balls were inaccurate.
V.Livramento (6.9/10): Livramento constantly got up the pitch but his crossing and passing was poor.
Stuart Armstrong (7.4/10): Armstrong scored the opener with an easy-headed finish. He made some good passes as well.
James Ward-Prowse (7.3/10): Ward-Prowse controlled the game for the Saints in midfield and created a few chances for his teammates.
Oriol Romeu (7.2/10): Romeu did well in midfield winning the majority of the duels and playing the ball forward.
M.Elyounoussi (6.6/10): Elyounoussi did well to head the ball back to Armstrong for his goal.His passing was poor otherwise and he gave away the ball cheaply many times.
A.Broja (6.8/10): Broja had a poor game and missed a big chance to score. He could not get into the game as much as he wanted to and his passing was poor.

Emil Krafth (6/10): Had a poor game and lost possession a lot. Could not make anything happen with his crosses and was also caught out defensively.
Fabian Schar (6.5/10): Didn’t have that presence he usually does and looked timid at the back.
Dan Burn (7.5/10): Got the assist for the Guimaraes goal with a headed pass.Made a couple of blocks and was a presence during set-pieces.
Matt Targett (7.7/10): Had a really good game playing some good crosses and was also solid at the back.
Joe Willock (6.3/10): Could not get into the game and missed a good chance to score.Made some good dribbles though.
Jonjo Shelvey (7/10): Played a brilliant curling cross for Wood to head home. He gave a balance to the midfield.
Bruno Guimarães (7.4/10): The new signing scored with a wonderful backheel flick after Burn headed the ball across the box. He lost possession a lot though and was subbed after feeling cramp.
Ryan Fraser (6.5/10): Did not take on the defenders as usual. His passing was poor and was dispossessed a lot of times.
Chris Wood (7.5/10): Wood scored a trademark header from a Shelvey ball to equalize. He saw very little of the ball otherwise and could not hold up the ball from long passes.
Jacob Murphy (7/10): Murphy had a decent game. Was not at his sharpest in the final third but did his defensive duties well.
