Southampton vs Watford: Southampton squared off against Watford at the St. Mary’s Stadium in the ongoing edition of the Premier League.

A 1-2 defeat to Watford proves that Southampton is one of the most inconsistent teams in the league. The Saints came into this game with a really dominating home form. Watford on the other hand had contrasting performances. However, goals from Cucho Hernandez sealed a vital three points for Roy Hodgson’s men in their battle for survival.

Walker-Peters (6/10): By far Southampton’s best defender of the game. Was brilliant going forward and defensively. 

Bednarek (5/10): Not his best game for Southampton. Struggled to deal with Dennis. 

Salisu (4/10): Struggled with his role change. Let Hernandez leap over him and score. 

Perraud (4/10): Started very poorly. Did better in and out of possession in the second half. 

Staurt Armstrong (5/10): Essentially started as a second-striker along with Adams. Slotted back to midfield in the second half.

Romeu (5/10): Not quite the impact he had against West Ham. Similar to his showing against Aston Villa. 

Ward-Prowse (7/10): Could not get himself settled in the first half. Did better in the second with his passing. 

Elyounoussi (7/10): Slotted in the ball to give Southampton some hope. Was good with progressing the ball. 

Smallbone (4/10): One of the worst players on the field. Was rightfully taken off at half-time.

Che Adams (7/10): Looked sharp all game. Got the assist, should have done better in front of the goal.

Broja (4/10): Came on at half-time. Struggled to make any meaningful impact.

Watford 

Ben Foster (8/10): Brilliant outing for the cycling GK! Made some crucial saves to seal the game for Watford.

Femenia (6/10): Stayed on till 90th minute surprisingly. Was decent going forward. 

Kabasele (7/10): Kabasele made some really unnecessary fouls in dangerous areas. Got away with it. 

Samir (8/10): Rock solid performance from Samir. Effortlessly dealt with the likes of Armstrong and Adams.

Kamara (7/10): Had a couple of nervy moments here and there. Regardless, ambitious and effective going forward.

Sissoko (8/10): Sissoko looks to have cherished the managerial change. Another brilliant performance. 

Louza (7/10): Started the game really well. However, the likes of Armstrong and Ward-Prowse dominated him later in the game. 

Kucka (8/10): One of his best performances this season. Kucka even topped it off with an assist for Hernandez. 

Hernandez (9/10): Hernandes bounced back in some style after that poor showing against Wolves. Pounced on Southampton’s error to open the scoring and volleyed one in for his brace. 

Pedro (8/10): His quick feet cause Southampton some trouble in the first half. Had moments of flashes in the second. 

Dennis (7/10): A really good performance from Dennis after a long time. The goal is still overdue.
