After a 20-year wait, Bad Blood will make its return as an erstwhile pay-per-view next month in October. Slated to emanate from the State Farm Arena nestled in Georgia, the PLE is being viewed as one of the most anticipated shows of the year. Even though WWE has yet to start building towards the event, plans are already in the works.

Having said that, as per Viper Reports, the rechristened premium live event is set to feature the Intercontinental Championship match, with Bron Breakker still awaiting his challenger. Beginning this Monday on Raw, a multi-man tournament will determine the No. 1 contender for the IC title. The only name confirmed to be in the tourney is Jey Uso. WWE might soon unveil the brackets.

That’d possibly mean the working man’s silverware wouldn’t make it to Berlin on August 31. The fans were hoping for Russian-born German wrestler Ilja Dragunov to be on the card for Bash in Berlin. However, that doesn’t seem likely at this point. In fact, the reigning champ Breakker was the one who wrote Dragunov off television a few weeks ago.

They might be the ones to oppose each other at Bad Blood, with gold on the line in Atlanta. But it isn’t going to be child’s play for anyone who gets through the tournament to earn a crack at Bron’s IC title. The latter’s been on a tear. Two weeks ago, he crushed Sami Zayn‘s dreams of regaining the strap in a 2-out-of-3 falls match on Raw. Breakker is off to a flyer on the main roster. He’d really want to cruise past the Raw roster, which seems ravenous for glory.

What’s the expected main event for WWE Bad Blood?

As alluded to earlier, WWE is hellbent on hitting a home run on Bad Blood’s return to their programming. What better way than to have a Hell in a Cell match? That’s right. As previously reported by WRKD Wrestling, CM Punk and Drew McIntyre are expected to lock horns inside that sadistic structure at the PLE.

But first, they’re up for a strap match at next weekend’s Bash in Berlin. A win for Punk there is the need of the hour for the inevitable HIAC showdown to have a semblance of intrigue. The Best in the World is already a match down to Drew, who tactically outmaneuvered the former AEW star at SummerSlam.

Punk has vowed to inflict a beating of a lifetime on McIntyre in Germany’s capital. There’s a heavy chance that they end up headlining the night as well. Let’s see how it pans out.
