Major reports reveal former Intercontinental Champion's future after his contract recently expired with WWE.
Ricochet signs multi-year deal with AEW (via AEW and WWE)
Ricochet‘s contract with WWE recently expired on July 1st, 2024. He had signed with the company in 2018 and faced varying degrees of success on the main roster. After officially not re-signing with the company, the wrestling world was curious to find out where he would end up, and fans may finally have their answer.
As per a report by Fightful, the former Intercontinental Champion is reportedly traveling to London for AEW All In. He has apparently been planned for the show and will be making a surprise appearance. It is unclear where he would fit into the show. The most likely spot for him would be the Casino Gauntlet Match for a guaranteed World title shot. Inserting him right into the main event scene would be a remarkable start for the Highlight of the Night.
When the news of Ricochet’s contract expiry became public, Will Ospreay posted a teaser on social media that the erstwhile Prince Puma was soon going to debut in AEW. Shortly after, the former Intercontinental Champion was written off WWE TV after being decimiated by Bron Breakker.
WWE had invested a lot in the 35-year-old to make him a huge superstar. He was put into several high-profile feuds against superstars like Logan Paul and Gunther. The company crowned him the first ever WWE Speed Champion. Despite consistently putting on the best matches of the night, he was unable to make an emotional connection with the audience and thus never reached the top.
