Kerala pacer S Sreesanth made his long-awaited return to competitive cricket after a period of 7 years for Kerala in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He has impressed so far with his vintage lines and lengths although he has been a tad expensive. He has also made sure his usual aggression has never diminished as he can seen staring at batsmen and exchanging words with them.

One such incident occurred during the match against Mumbai which Kerala won thanks to Mohammed Azharuddeen‘s quick-fire ton. Sreesanth’s delivery fizzed past Mumbai youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal‘s bat and immediately the fast-bowler went over to the batsman and stared at him before exchanging a few words. Jaiswal then retorted by hitting him for 6,6 and 4 in the next three deliveries. The moment soon went viral on social media.

Sreesanth responds to sports journalist Charles Assisi

The moment involving Sreesanth and Jaiswal was noticed by a plethora of fans and cricketers and sports journalist Charles Assisi took to Twitter to criticize the pacer for his on-field acts. He wrote, “Someone tell Sreesanth a long run-up & sledging doesn’t make anyone a world-class fast bowler. But getting hammered after you sledge makes it clear you’re more bluster than a bowler.”

Much to the surprise of fans, Sreesanth replied to the tweet and wrote, “Thnks a lot for the information..really appreciate ,u took time out to write this. I always give the very best to every delivery, and that was some great pick up shots nd he is a very good nd he is gonna keep getting better ,proud of the way he plays nd may god bless him nd family (sic)”

This retort by the Kerala fast-bowler has now been lapped up by his fans who have applauded him for ‘being himself’.
