The Goat debate in the NBA is endless. First, it was between Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Magic Johnson, then the ever-legendary Michael Jordan entered, and changed the way the game is played. He won six NBA titles, going down as one of the greatest to play the game. A few years later, the late Kobe Bryant made an impact on the sport, entering GOAT conversations with Jordan.

Now, it is none other than Lakers superstar LeBron James going toe-to-toe with the Chicago Bulls legend. At this point, fans relentlessly argue over who the GOAT is. Is it Jordan or is it James? The debate goes on for days with no outcome. That said, Jordan’s teammate Stacey King dropped the hammer on this matter lately.

When you know that you’re great and you don’t have to tell people that you’re great and you let the fans decide…Then you’ve reached GOAT status!!

King claimed that Jordan has never himself said that he is the greatest, the Bulls legend never boasted about himself, as per King’s remarks. On the other hand, James has multiple times called himself the greatest and has added himself to the GOAT conversations, something that differs from Jordan regarding the debate. Jordan’s former teammate does have a valid point here.

This does not take away anything from James in terms of his commitment to the sport. James has delivered consistently for 22 years in the league, now entering the 23rd year with the 2025-26 season on the horizon. But the Lakers star putting himself ahead of Jordan is where the former Bulls player draws the line.

All in all, everyone has different opinions on this particular debate. Hence, there will never be a definitive answer regarding this matter. That said, Jordan and James’ impact on the sport will be talked about for years amongst the fans.

NOT the first time Stacey King spoke about the GOAT debate

Stacey King has always been a long-time admirer of Michael Jordan. One would say that this was because of him being his former teammate at the Bulls, but the stats around Jordan speak something else. King’s preference for Jordan over LeBron James in the GOAT debate seems valid, and he has made his opinions clear on this matter several times in the past as well.

What you are doing in 20 years, MJ did in 13. Let’s stop right there. You are not the GOAT, you are not going to bypass Kobe, you are not going to bypass Kareem and Wilt Chamberlain, the GOAT conversation is over.

As LeBron is nearing his 41st birthday later this year, it appears that his window to add to his collection of four championships may be shrinking quickly, as the Lakers’ early departure marks their third first-round loss in the previous four seasons. King acknowledged James’ legendary reputation while rejecting his claim to the greatest title of all time.

Luka Doncic made an interesting revelation regarding LeBron James

Luka Doncic is in off-season mode, but his off-season has been a bit different. He is completely focused on the upcoming Eurohoops 2025 competition, as well as having a great season with the Lakers in the coming year. So much so that he has gone from being overweight to being completely muscled up. But what gathered everybody’s attention was Doncic’s take on what it is like to play with LeBron James.

Doncic was questioned about this during the MLB game in New York that was televised by the YES Network.

I always looked up to him, the way he approaches the game, his professionalism. So when I came, he accepted me with open arms, and it was just amazing to be his teammate, really.

Luka Doncic said

Due to his duties with Jordan Brand and his ongoing promotional tour throughout the United States, Doncic is in New York. Given that, he will soon join up with the King at the training camp to get ready for another year of a chaotic NBA season together.
