“State can get medical files,” Ex-Raiders Henry Ruggs in massive trouble after new judge rules against him in car crash case

Henry Ruggs has stumbled upon a new block in his quest of getting off the hook for the high-speed car crash which involved his girlfriend. The car crash led to the death of a 23-year-old woman named Tina Tintor last November.
The former Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver continues to face multiple felony charges and will be under the pump even further after the court’s recent ruling. A Nevada judge ruled that prosecutors can obtain medical records about injuries that his girlfriend Kiara Je’nai Kilgo-Washington suffered.

Henry Ruggs’ attorney Peter Christiansen did not reveal his further plans regarding the case, as to whether they would challenge the decision in the Nevada Supreme court. Christiansen has claimed in court documents that Kilgo-Washington has not been charged with a crime and that her health information is protected under federal and state doctor-patient confidentiality rules.
Judge Tara Clark Newberry of the Clark County District Court found that publication of the material is permissible under state statute regarding protected health information exceptions.
It is fair to say that Henry Ruggs’ NFL career has all but come to an abrupt end, despite him being only 23-years of age. The wide receiver was drafted by the Las Vegas Raiders in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft but was released from the franchise following the incident.
If Henry Ruggs is convicted of driving under the influence causing death or serious injury, he risks a minimum sentence of two years in jail and a maximum sentence of more than 50 years.
