When the Los Angeles Lakers drafted Adou Thiero out of Arkansas with the No. 36 overall pick, the idea was that he would be another young gun for the future.

Even though LeBron James‘ fans might want the franchise to give him a chance at winning a 5th title, the organization has seemingly moved towards life after the King.

The 6′ 7″ forward brings some much-needed physicality to a team that will be without it once the 4-time champion retires. That is why they traded up and took the chance when it was available.

This season, though, playing time has been limited, with the likes of Bronny James, Dalton Knecht, and a horde of two-way contract players jostling for minutes.

But he is still spending time among the Lakers’ superstars, known for their flashy style. Maybe that is why he spent a chunk of his $1.2 million paycheck on a set of wheels.

The only problem is that those wheels went missing, and he had to call 911. While tracking the SUV, the Los Angeles Police Department was led to the One Hotel in West Hollywood.

After reviewing security footage, officers identified the two suspects and ended up arresting them. Although they did not clarify it as a theft, law enforcement booked the two on charges of taking a vehicle without the consent of Adou Thiero.

It turns out that the two suspects were 27-year-old Trey Rose and 27-year-old Samson Nacua. The latter is the older brother of Los Angeles Rams’ wide receiver Puka Nacua.

Adou Thiero might have caused some trouble with Lakers’ fan Puka Nacua

Adou Thiero was probably scared about his SUV and was forced to call 911 to assist him in recovering it. It might not have been a theft, as the two suspects were found easily at a hotel, even though they did take the vehicle without the Lakers’ star’s consent.

This entire situation could end up resulting in some tension among the Los Angeles Lakers players and Rams star Puka Nacua. It so happens that the wide receiver is an ardent fan of the franchise and often makes his way to watch their games.

On top of that, he admires and loves LeBron James, and constantly talks about the 40-year-old as the GOAT of basketball. If anything, this entire stolen SUV event could strain the relationship between both sides.

Nacua might end up reaching out to James, Austin Reaves, or Luka Doncic, the other Lakers stars he is familiar with, to ensure his older brother does not end up getting charged for the alleged theft.

If Adou Thiero decides not to file any charges, Samson Nacua and his friend will walk away without a mark on their records. It might ease any possible discomfort for Lakers fan Puka Nacua as well.

Adou Thiero has yet to make his mark on Lakers

As Adou Thiero juggles life between the Los Angeles Lakers 1st team and their G-League affiliate, he hopes to continue developing to a point where he can contribute regularly wearing the purple and gold.

If injuries hamper the Lakers, the 21-year-old might be called to assist them, as he did during the two games against the Boston Celtics and the Toronto Raptors earlier this month.

He displayed a raw energy that will be crucial if the veteran players experience fatigue later in the season. But his true worth will be in the future, when the team starts to build around Luka Doncic.

Thiero was brought in for his ability to defend, score inside the paint, and hustle after the ball. Maybe the Lakers are waiting for him to find his rhythm, so that they can deploy him when the postseason comes around.
