DeShon Elliott is a player with an easy-going personality. The Safety for the Pittsburgh Steelers is known to make light-hearted comments during his press conferences and at practice. This time though, his sense of humor might have landed him in some hot water.

As the Pittsburgh Steelers prepare to face the New York Jets this Sunday, DeShon Elliott shared a post on Instagram signaling his team’s confidence to secure the win. He posted an image that combined the faces of Head Coach Mike Tomlin and deceased Al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden.

Elliott captioned the image with “Osama Bin Tomlin” referencing Bin Laden’s attack on 9/11. The image featured Mike Tomlin’s face combined with Osama Bin Laden’s beard and the Imama turban. The safety meant for it to be satire but to date 9/11 remains a dark day for New York City.

DeShon Elliott may get fined by the NFL over his post

His teammate Patrick Queen commented on the post with “bruh” to which Elliott responded, “Im so confused on what the fans are talking about, I just thought the pic was funny.” The picture is hilarious to those who enjoy dark humor but individuals that lost their kith and kin in the attack are not as receptive to Elliott’s sense of humor.

The comments on the post featured mixed responses from fans. Neither the NFL nor the Steelers have made a statement regarding Elliott’s post but there is a possibility that he may be fined.

The image was posted by an Instagram fan account of running back Najee Harris. He tagged DeShon Elliott, Patrick Queen, and Najee Harris. The point of the image is to say that Mike Tomlin will go into New York and wreak havoc on the Jets.

It might be easier said than done because this week, Aaron Rodgers will have a new man suiting up alongside him. With Davante Adams a part of the roster, the Jets offense is better than ever.

Mike Tomlin’s record against the New York Jets since he began coaching the Steelers in 2007 is 3-5. The team ranks second in the AFC North with a record of 4-2.

Up until this point, quarterback Justin Fields has been holding the fort down and playing his part but this week, Tomlin is considering a switch at the QB position. There is a possibility that veteran Russell Wilson will be starting on Sunday for the Steelers against the Jets.
