The Barcelona Open has kept the fans entertained as it looks to end its 2024 season with a heck of a final match. Greek ace Stefanos Tsitsipas will take on a familiar face and his childhood friend, Casper Ruud, for the title in Barcelona.
Tsitsipas has had a rather wonderful season on the court and is on a 10-match win streak on clay this year. Intending to do well in clay, the Greek has started it off with a title win in Monte Carlo. He faced Ruud in the finals of Monte Carlo, where the Greek won in straight sets.

Tsitsipas got the better of Ruud last week and is once again against the Norwegian for the title in Barcelona. A rematch for both of them to take the lead in their H2H, which stands at 2-2. Where the Greek has had a great season on clay, his opponent has been wonderful the entire season.
Ruud is currently leading the Tour with 28 wins thus far and is into his 4th final. However, Tsitsipas, on the other hand, has yet to win a title. Despite putting up a show throughout the tournament, he doesn’t bring it home and would hope to win a title today as well.
Stefanos Tsitsipas expects a much better rematch of Monte Carlo as he gears up to face Casper Ruud for the second consecutive final
Ruud has been extremely consistent throughout the season and is again in touching distance of winning his first season title. If he manages to win this, it will be his first ATP 500 title.

I’m expecting a much better version of what I had in Monte Carlo. We had a good match there. Of course, these kinds of matches are tricky. Playing back-to-back. You try to see what works best for you. The opponent is trying to get as good as he can for the next one.Said Stefanos Tsitsipas via Barcelona Press.
Ahead of their matchup, the Greek was asked to comment on facing Ruud for the second time in a week. He said that he is looking forward to a better match than they had in Monaco. Knowing the difficulties that come with facing the same opponent twice, Tsitsipas is ready to extend his winning streak on clay.
