Greek pro Stefanos Tsitsipas has had a great start to his clay season. After a dominating win in his second game, World No. 12 sits down for a chat. After a healthy talk about the game, the Greek opened up about his meeting with football legend David Beckham in Miami. 

Both Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa were out of Miami early, leaving them enough time to roam around the place for a while.

During that time, they had visited the Miami CF’s training center, where they met club owner David Beckham, along with a few other players.

That was a lot of fun. We spoke with David. He loves tennis. He told us how his kids used to be big into tennis but they stopped recently. We spoke about sports, about mentality. He told about his future plans with Inter Miami. So it was quite interesting to get a different sort of conversation.

Furthermore, Tsitsipas and Badosa also met players like Jordi Alba, Noah Allen, and more. While Badosa is back on the sidelines treating her injuries, her boyfriend gets off to a flyer start at the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters.

Former champion Stefanos Tsitsipas gets off to a great start at the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters. After a first-round walkover, he faced Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry in the second. After a great first set, Tsitsipas switched to a more attacking mode, beating the Argentinian in a bagel set.

An easy match for the Greek, who was nothing short of perfect. After breaking his opponent’s serve multiple times, he won in straight sets. It was a quick finish as the Greek won 6-1, 6-0 to advance to the next round. 

He now faces a familiar opponent in the form of Alexander Zverev. The two have faced each other 14 times before, and Tsitsipas will look to extend his H2H lead to 10-1. The two have already faced each other once this year at the United Cup, with Zverev having won that match 6-4, 6-4.

Tsitsipas has produced his best tennis in the Principality in recent years. He is the former champion, winning the Masters 1000 twice, in 2021 and 2022. Furthermore, World No. 12 also reached the quarterfinals last year.

With the defending champion Andrey Rublev out early, the Greek becomes one of the favorites to win the tournament.
