- Stefon Diggs is set to be released by the New England Patriots after a one-year stint with the team.
- He expressed gratitude to the Patriots on social media, acknowledging their support during his resurgent season.
- Diggs will officially become a free agent on March 11th, seeking a new team despite concerns about aging receivers.
The last month has been quite the rollercoaster for New England Patriots superstar wide receiver Stefon Diggs, experiencing losses in both his professional and his personal life.
In terms of the latter, cheating allegations and handing out the mother of his child front row seats to Super Bowl LX was the last straw that led Cardi B to sever all ties.
The rapper has not officially spoken about their relationship, but pointed out how she was not on good terms with the father of her just-born son. However, she tries to keep it classy by defending him at every opportunity.
All of this stemmed from the biggest game of his life, when he and his Patriots lost to the Seattle Seahawks. Had Diggs and his team won, who knows what would have happened to his personal life? After all, Cardi B spent $1 million on a Super Bowl after-party.

Anywho, none of that matters as both the rapper and the wide receiver have moved. Now, it seems his team is also about to do so after letting him know that he would be released.
Thank you for a hell of a year. We family forever. Love Patriots.

This message seems to be Stefon Diggs‘ way of both accepting and bidding goodbye to the New England Patriots family, who were there when he had a resurgent season that put to rest any conversations about him being past his best.
Stefon Diggs hoping to face Patriots in the future
On March 11th, Stefon Diggs will officially become a free agent. The last time he was one, he chose to sign with the New England Patriots on a three-year, $63.5 million contract.

Now that the one-year stint with the franchise is over, the 32-year-old has to find a team willing to take him. Usually, once receivers go past 30, they are seen as liabilities, as injuries and a drop in speed and athleticism become evident.
But Diggs proved that even a torn ACL was not going to stop him from posting another 1000-yard season. Teams looking for veteran leaders and that type of production could be lining up outside his agent’s office.
However, it is unlikely the Maryland native would get another major payday, as long-term deals for aging receivers are rare. But even then, he hopes one comes his way so that he can meet his former Patriots teammates and the passionate fans somewhere during the season.
Until we meet again… 8.

Diggs has played his entire career in the AFC. It is still possible that he remains in it, especially considering how another contender could come calling. But he could also go to one of the budding NFC teams looking for an elite pass catcher.
Christian Gonzalez showers praise after Stefon Diggs’ exit
During the one year Stefon Diggs was with the New England Patriots, he became their de facto team leader, often taking the time to motivate his teammates before games.
One of the realest and best teammates (I’ve) ever played with.
Christian Gonzalez wrote on IG
This was superstar cornerback Christian Gonzalez, who has seemingly taken over the mantle of the Patriots’ best player now that Diggs is no longer there.

Sure, they have MVP finalist Drake Maye, but the defensive star’s single-handed effort to keep his team in the hunt for Super Bowl LX just elevated him to the status of the team’s top athlete.
He knows what it was to have Stefon Diggs as a veteran, as there is much to learn from someone who has scaled the heights. Maybe the receiver was instrumental in helping Gonzalez’s rise for him to leave such a message minutes after the news broke.
