Stefon Diggs missed this week’s OTAs at the New England Patriots facility to party in Florida with his rumored celebrity girlfriend, Cardi B. Videos from the private outing went viral, drawing ample criticism from fans.

The Patriots hired former player Mike Vrabel as head coach to reinstall discipline in the team, which had been missing the last few seasons. After Wednesday’s practice, reporters asked Vrabel to comment on Diggs choosing to party over attending practice.

This is a voluntary part of our off-season program. Every player that’s not here, which there aren’t many, have been in communication with me and their position coaches.

Diggs attended the earlier practices but opted to have some downtime with friends in Florida before rejoining the team. Well, the yacht party itself is not the issue. The OTAs are voluntary, so a lot of the older guys on the team prefer to take longer breaks.

However, a certain part of the video raised questions about the nature of the gathering. Diggs brought out an unidentified pink substance that improved the mood of the bikini-clad women who surrounded the Pro Bowler. Vrabel revealed that the Patriots are keeping an eye on the situation.

It’s something that we’re aware of. Obviously, we want to make great decisions on and off the field. We’re hoping that with our time here on the field today, that when we don’t have a script and we’re on the call periods, we’re making great decisions.

Diggs and Cardi B made headlines on Valentine’s Day. The rapper, who was married to singer Offset, was filmed engaging in an intimate conversation with the former Buffalo Bills and Houston Texans player.

Earlier this month, Diggs escorted Cardi to the Knicks game at Madison Square Garden. They were darlings of the gossip columns; Timothy Chalmette and Kylie Jenner accompanied the NFL duo at the historic venue.

Throughout his NFL career, Diggs has experienced numerous controversial moments. His infamous fallout with Josh Allen in Buffalo remains a massive talking point to this day.

The Bills saw fit to cut Diggs while they had the chance. He joined the Texans on a one-year deal. He finished with just 496 yards from 47 receptions and three touchdowns, and the Texans didn’t see the need to extend his contract.

Patriots brought Diggs in to give second-year quarterback Drake Maye an experienced receiver to work with. The AFC East team hasn’t had a 1000-yard receiver since Julian Edelman in 2019.

Diggs signed a three-year contract worth $69 million. Right after penning his deal, Diggs was filmed in the first episode of the Patriots documentary ‘Forged in Foxborough,’ which focuses on Vrabel.

If the Patriots want to return to the winning days, then Vrabel and Diggs must work together. Before his hiccup in Houston, Diggs went six years with 1000+ yards. If anyone can bring the best out of Maye, it would be Diggs.
