Stefon Diggs will suit up for the Patriots in Super Bowl LX. Before that, the star wideout made his mark during his prime years with the Bills alongside Josh Allen. As Bills fans will remember, Diggs didn’t leave Buffalo on good terms. In fact, fans had slowly grown to dislike his antics on and off the field.

That being said, Diggs holds no grudges. During his brief Q&A session ahead of the Super Bowl in California, the veteran wideout urged the Bills fans to keep believing in Allen.

Listen. I love y’all. I know I’m far gone, but I do miss y’all. I have a great relationship with y’all. Keep hanging your head on that quarterback. That quarterback is a Hall of Famer.

Diggs played four extremely productive seasons with the Bills. In 66 appearances, he caught 445 passes for 5372 yards and scored 37 touchdowns. The Pro Bowler wasn’t the only one who benefited from the arrangement. Allen’s pass completion improved from 58% to 69% in his first year with Diggs. He quickly established himself as one of the best QBs not just in the AFC but the entire NFL.

However, his relationship with Allen and the locker room had begun to dwindle near the tail end of his tenure. He was spotted yelling at the Bills quarterback after a disappointing playoff run in 2023, which turned out to be his last involvement in Buffalo.

Parts of me wish things were different. I’ve got a lot of love and respect for that team.

Diggs added

He was thrilled to hear Gabe Davis returning to the Bills for the 2025 season. He quickly reached out to his former teammate.

I was like, ‘Look at you go. “Y’all getting the band back together? I said, ‘Where’s Cole Beasley at?’

The Bills traded him to Houston, but his time with the Texans was plagued by injuries. After the Texans declined to extend his stay, Diggs agreed to sign a three-year contract with the Patriots last year.

Wide receivers tend to decline after the age of 30. That’s why there’s always an urgency to win a ring before being phased out. Most people saw Diggs as a relic of a past era who joined the Patriots for one final big payday. The expectations were very low. Diggs defied the odds to rack up another 1000-yard campaign and helped the Patriots reach the Super Bowl.

Sure, it was a far cry from his numbers in the 2020 season, but he knew exactly what Mike Vrabel and Josh McDaniels expected from the beginning, be a leader and contribute. Instead of behaving like a diva, Diggs relied on his young quarterback and the surrounding teammates more.

When I got it, nothing changed. I had playmakers around me, and coach [Josh] McDaniels does a great job of spreading the ball around… Part of having the success we’ve had on offense because everyone gets a little piece of the pie. Maybe we get a little bit more this week, maybe a little less next week. So, having to handle that, having to navigate that, I just knew that like, I’m gonna get my opportunities, they’re going to come.

While the Patriots are gearing up for another Super Bowl appearance, the Bills’ season ended in the divisional round. Allen took the blame upon himself.

If I make one more play, that game in Denver, we’re probably not having this press conference right now. We’re probably not making a change. In all honesty, we’re probably getting ready to play another game.

The Bills fired Sean McDermott after the loss and upgraded Joe Brady‘s status from offensive coordinator to team head coach.
