This season, the league is back with a new iteration of technology called Physical AI. However, this time, it is in the form of helper robots. In one of the videos, Steph Curry was seen working with a robot that that catches rebounds and passes him the ball during shooting drills.

In another video, Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has player replacement robots on the court helping him draw up and perfect new game plans. Draymond Green has an assistant robot who tells him what he needs to do next.

Then commissioner Adam Silver brought out robotic dogs that can be used to throw t-shirts into the stands and dance along with fans. All of this is to help fans and players alike as the league looks towards building engaging audiences.

Fans lose their minds watching Steph Curry and Warriors use robots

Fans watching these clips had their heads scratching. They wondered how this would help the league engage with fans. They believe this is a waste of time and money as the league is not doing what is necessary to fix the problems the game of basketball has shown so far.

Bringing robots into the picture means human jobs are at risk. Fans were not appreciative of it that as they know that the livelihood of many are at stake. They commented back on those clips talking about what is weird about robots. Check out examples of those comments below.

The NBA can try and use the robots to improve fan engagement. But as per fans, it is a foolhardy attempt as they are not fixing the real problems faced by the league. Adam Silver has talked about their discussions which are aiming to fix them. Until they happen, fans are not convinced.
