“It’s like that parent-child relationship…” Steph Curry describes dynamic with Andrew Wiggins in Warriors team

Stephen Curry and Andrew Wiggins

Throughout his career, Stephen Curry has consistently shown his support for his teammates in every circumstance, with Draymond Green and Klay Thompson as a testament to the same. He has a very cordial and helpful relationship with everyone, but he has something deeper with Andrew Wiggins.

Stephen Curry recently compared his bond with Andrew Wiggins to that of a parent and kid, during a press conference. Given his lackluster season-long play, Curry’s level of support for him is greatly appreciated by fans.

It's like that parents-child relationship - not to say he's a child- where you only ask somebody to do what you know they are capable of doing.

Curry has consistently backed Wiggins, and sometimes it was more than support that justified his recent statement. Although he averaged 13.2 points this season despite missing some games due to personal issues, he is considered an underperformer, which does not speak highly of him.

Klay Thompson cited Andrew Wiggins as the reason they won the 2022 championship

Klay Thompson believes Andrew Wiggins is the cause of the 2022 triumph, and he played a big part in the team’s victory. Following the Warriors vs. Heat game on March 26, Thompson discussed who he thought was the most important player on the roster at a press conference. The 2022 Championship was the main factor, and Wiggins was instrumental in helping them win the championship.

That's why we won the championship. It was because of Andrew's two-play play. We obviously need him to be that to go where we wanna go and he is so vital to what we do. Without him, we cannot reach our potential.
Klay Thompson said

Wiggins had one of his best seasons (2021–2022), averaging 17.2 points. He played 22 games throughout the 2022 playoffs, leading his side to an incredible victory.

Now to the current scenario, Wiggins had a tough season and the team as a whole is supporting him, which is exactly what he needs. He must prepare himself over this offseason break to return to his groove.
