Stephen Curry and Anthony Edwards

Team USA stars Stephen Curry and Anthony Edwards have gathered a lot of attention lately after their recent interaction with the Team USA table tennis team. Notably, Curry seemed in a playful mood as he slyly instigated the USA table tennis team to challenge Edwards, which they did and interestingly, Edwards did not back down either.

Edwards, the All-Star guard for the Minnesota Timberwolves, is unlikely to back away from a challenge, even in a sport like table tennis that is outside of his area of expertise. Stephen Curry of Team USA jokingly organized a table tennis contest between Edwards and the American women’s table tennis team.

I got some people here that say they gonna beat me in ping-pong, 21-0. I don't believe it, I don't believe it. I'm not having it. I'm not having it. Eleven to zero, I'm scoring one point.
Anthony Edwards responded

This conversation demonstrates the friendly rivalry and togetherness that exist within Team USA as they get ready for the Olympics in Paris. Edwards accepted the challenge despite having little prior table tennis expertise, demonstrating his willpower and drive to push himself. Steve Kerr praises Anthony Edward’s strong mentality ahead of 2024 Paris Olympics

Anthony Edwards is one of the most exciting players the NBA witnessed during the 2023-24 NBA season, and he also earned a place on the USA basketball team ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics. Notably. Edwards made a bold statement, stating that he refers to himself as the No. 1 option” ahead of the decorated tournament. Interestingly, his Team USA head coach, Steve Kerr praised him for his strong mentality.

I want them to bring their very best selves. I love that Anthony Edwards said he's the No. 1 option... I want him to think that way. And I want five, six other guys to feel that way too.
Steve Kerr told a USA basketball reporter

On the contrary, When Team USA plays Serbia on July 28 in the group stage of the competition, Kerr has not yet decided who will start for his side. With so many star players in the USA side, Kerr will well and truly have a selection headache, and has to get his starting lineup spot on to avoid any mishaps for his side in this particular tournament.
