Steph Curry is facing a dilemma that has never affected him during his basketball career. The Golden State Warriors superstar now faces a tough time recovering from his hamstring injury, while his teammates try and keep their second-round series against the Minnesota Timberwolves at arm’s length.
Basketball fans and analysts understand that the hot scoring form he displayed in Game 1 in the short 13 minutes he was on the court could have helped the Warriors win the series easily. At this stage of the season, veteran players struggle with fatigue.
However, the two-time league MVP displayed no signs of that, even though he came off a physical battle against the Houston Rockets over seven games. That indicates he wanted to get the job done as early as possible.
The Warriors received the message loud and clear that they cannot slack off as they did in Games 5 and 6 against the Rockets. But now that he is out of play at least until Game 4, Curry is at a loss, and his emotions revealed how this injury has affected him.
No, this is new. And from all that I’m learning about how quickly you can get back, there has to be a healing process. You can’t accelerate it more than what it’s telling you. After a week, we can really evaluate to understand when it’s safe, just to even think about playing, let alone how much you can push it.

The superstar’s body language clearly shows he wants to be out there with his teammates. This is a continuation of the emotions he displayed to head coach Steve Kerr and the medical staff inside the medical room after exiting Game 1. However, he knows he cannot rush it back.
Steph Curry wary of trying to play through the injury
When an athlete faces an injury for the first time in their career, they have to learn how to manage their conditioning and recovery. Sometimes they lean on other athletes who have faced similar injuries. Maybe that is why Steph Curry was not completely open to the idea of playing through this hamstring injury.

Eventually, there will be conversations like that. But I’m not anywhere close to that. I’m not rushing it. I know how tricky hamstrings can be, where they can fool you to think that it’s healed, even though you cannot feel anything.

He understands that his inexperience with this injury could backfire if he does not fully understand how much he has recovered. The situation is risky. If the Golden State Warriors do manage to hold on and enter Game 5 with the series level, Steph Curry might be needed back on the floor.

But if he aggravates this injury, and the Warriors move on to the next round, it could severely impact them in the Western Conference Finals. Teams have to think beyond what they are currently facing. The only situation where they do not have the luxury to do that is if their season is on the line.
Curry helps children have a night to remember
Steph Curry might not be on the court. But he sat on the sidelines watching his Golden State Warriors struggle against a driven Minnesota Timberwolves. All he could do was to cheer for his teammates and egg them on.
At halftime, his team was down by nearly 20 points, even though the Timberwolves were without Anthony Edwards for half the second quarter. As they made their way to the visitor locker room, Curry walked slowly along with the team staff.
Three kids leaned over the railing and held their hands out, hoping one of the Warriors players would dap them. As Curry approached, they extended their hands as low as they could. The four-time champion saw this and stretched his hand up and dapped them.

The three kids were in awe, and their reactions showed that their night just became a lot better than they hoped for. Not only did their home team win Game 2 convincingly, but they also were dapped by one of the greatest basketball players of all time.
