Vince McMahon is undoubtedly one of the most polarizing public figures of all time. But, as a kid, he endured stifling abuse just because he used to stand up for his mother. The former WWE chairman’s daughter, Stephanie McMahon, recently detailed a disturbing anecdote concerning her notorious father. She hosted WWE president Nick Khan on the latest episode of the What’s Your Story? podcast.

The Queen of Queens revealed how McMahon used to be beaten up by his mother’s boyfriends. McMahon was physically abused just because he’d resist any harm done to his mother. Furthermore, Steph went on to claim that her dad was once bludgeoned by a lead pipe and was left to die in a ditch.

And one time he tells the story that he was beaten with a lead pipe and left in a ditch to die. But his mindset was if he could survive, he won.

Vinnie Mac, however, was of the mindset that if he could barely hang on, it’d be a moral victory for him. Just as the former WWE chairwoman said it, Khan chimed in and recalled having read about it in the late 1990s when Vince McMahon first talked about it publicly. Khan applauded the 79-year-old’s life transformation from growing up in a trailer park to creating a multibillion-dollar wrestling empire.

The WWE prez added that he’ll always have admiration for his ex-boss. Even though the aforementioned names were fondly talking about Mr. McMahon in such a public capacity, the WWE founder’s name hasn’t been directly mentioned on the company’s on-screen product ever since he was first accused of hush money charges in 2022. But there have been multiple references made to McMahon by certain superstars to accentuate the storytelling.

What is Vince McMahon currently up to?

Vince McMahon is making the moves to plot a return to the public eye. The North Carolina-born business tycoon’s first venture since leaving WWE is an investment firm, which will focus on pursuing opportunities in media, sports, and entertainment. At the time of its SEC filing, the company wasn’t intended to deal with pro wrestling.

However, as per Justin Barrasso of Undisputed, McMahon is primed to make a comeback to the world of professional wrestling after speaking with some top executives within the industry. At this point, there is no indication what that could mean. Moreover, the aforementioned report also noted that The Genetic Jackhammer tried purchasing a controlling interest in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship.

David Feldman, the BKFC president, confirmed to Undisputed that he did meet Mr. McMahon in that regard, but they couldn’t agree on terms. Apart from this, it was being speculated that McMahon was interested in buying WWE back from TKO. However, that’s not happening, as TKO Group Holdings, the WWE/UFC parent company, is majorly owned by Endeavor, and there are no talks to initiate a sale of WWE.

Vince McMahon once again compels arbitration in the Janel Grant lawsuit

A civil lawsuit that was filed in January 2024 against Vince McMahon by one of his former employees, Janel Grant, continues to move at a snail’s pace. The latest proceedings, as of a week ago, saw McMahon refile his motion to compel arbitration. Last month, Grant submitted an amended version of her complaint, in which she had accused McMahon and WWE of physical abuse and s*x trafficking.

One of the defendants in the case, John Laurinaitis, who was a former WWE head of talent relations and a key McMahon ally, has been dropped from the lawsuit after agreeing to provide new evidence against McMahon. The latter was said to be furious at Laurinaitis for willing to testify against him.

Another key aspect attached to the ongoing legal quagmire is Brock Lesnar, who was officially identified as the anonymous wrestler whom McMahon had pawned to Ms. Grant to secure a new deal with Lesnar in 2021. The Beast isn’t expected to make a WWE return until his name is cleared off from the matter.
