Aaron Rodgers has had one description of him that has stayed for almost the entirety of his NFL career. That of a sublime quarterback who is not afraid to try the most unbelievable throws in order to get his team to a victory. However, now with the New York Jets, football fans are yet to see the Aaron Rodgers of old.
While discussing the Jets on First Take, host Molly Qerim asked if Rodgers playing the game manager role in their win against the Titans is enough to win a Super Bowl. To this, Stephen A. Smith had his reservations.
I don't think so. I think more is going to be required of him for the Jets to have the level of success. But when you call him a game manager, that's not what he was brought to New York to do. You need Aaron Rodgers to look like Aaron Rodgers. You do need him to go out there and play lights out.Stephen A. Smith said.
This was Stephen A. Smith’s way of saying that Rodgers as a game manager won’t be enough. Instead, it will severely impact the Jets’ goal of winning a Super Bowl.
Aaron Rodgers might be taking it slow for the time being. After all, these are his first plays back on the field after suffering a gruesome season ending ACL tear last season. But even then, he needs to shed the game manager tag soon. As it can only carry the New York Jets for that much longer.
If he brings out his lights out style of play, the New York Jets can start to put pressure on opposing teams. Only then can they play their way to win a Super Bowl. Their upcoming schedule paces up perfectly for Rodgers to shed that tag.
Aaron Rodgers has optimum schedule to work his way upto speed
In his first game back, Rodgers looked like he did not want to move around much. His improved offensive line helped him in achieving that as they kept the swarming San Francisco 49ers defense at bay. After their win against the Titans, Rodgers and the Jets have two easier games to tackle at home.

Then they will face three defenses in a row that have so far sprung up surprises. In fact, most of the defenses Aaron Rodgers will face this season, are amongst the top half in the league. Giving him the best opportunity to bring his game up to speed. This will also help his receiving core as they get to grips with his throwing style.
It all sets up in a good way as the season winds down before the playoffs. Suggesting that the New York Jets will have enough experience under their belt to push for that first Super Bowl in more than 50 years.
