“Not a catch and shoot guy…” Stephen A. Smith BIZARRELY claims Paul George will be a bad fit as Stephen Curry’s teammate
Paul George's future at the Los Angeles Clippers will be decided very soon.
Stephen A. Smith addresses Paul George moving to Golden State
The recent rumors of Paul George leaving the Clippers for Golden State are all over the sports world and have been the reason for talk among many experts. For now, nothing official has come out, and Stephen A. Smith has also given his opinion about the situation.
Smith believes that George would be a bad fit as Stephen Curry‘s teammate and also said that there is no place for him in the Warriors lineup. Smith mentioned that he had no problem with George getting a max deal.
However, he feels that Golden State Warriors won’t be a good choice, even after knowing about the excellence of George on the court. He said that the team needs someone who can catch and shoot, the role that Klay Thompson plays. He also said that George is not a catch-and-shoot player which has raised many eyebrows as the 34-year-old had a 41% 3-point percentage.
Stephen A. Smith saidI would just tell you, in that system, the way that they play, knowing that Steph Curry will be his teammate. Paul George can ball and he can hit a three, he can get to the basket, he’s a big-time defender as well… I just don’t view him as a catch and shoot guy.
Smith suggested that George should stay with the Clippers and is a great fit for the Clippers. He even said that if he was looking for other teams then, George can be great for the Philadelphia 76ers and New York Knicks. All things considered, he has at least three solid options if he doesn’t want to be a Clipper anymore.
Joel Embiid hinted at wanting Paul George at Sixers
During the finals pre-show Sixers star Joel Embiid sat beside to-be-free agent Paul George. During the show, Embiid hinted that he would want to team up with Clippers’ star forward.
A big three of Embiid, George and Tyrese Maxey in Philadelphia would make the Sixers serious championship contenders and could represent the best chance either star has of reaching the Finals next season. The Clippers aren’t yet out of the race for George and can offer him a contract which will put pressure on the Sixers to increase their offer.
However, according to insider Shams Charania, the Sixers’ interest in signing George has “significantly waned.” The Clippers star is one of the best free agents on the market this offseason and with the Sixers having $65 million in cap space, one can expect them offering George a contract.
