In two years, Deion Sanders revived a poorly performing Colorado Buffaloes College Football team. Although the Buffs missed out on the playoffs, Sanders has set a serious resume for himself as a potential hotshot NFL coach.
After the Dallas Cowboys stated that they are parting ways with Mike McCarthy following a playoff miss in 2024, Deion Sanders is one of the major names associated with the Dallas Cowboys. In five years, McCarthy took the Cowboys to the postseason five times and maintained a winning record in his time on the Dallas sidelines. However, his post-season record with the Cowboys is not so fashionable.
On First Take, Stephen A. Smith dove into the buzz-worthy topic of Deion Sanders potentially becoming the next head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. Smith explained why the move makes perfect sense, outlining the benefits and appeal of the proposition.
Smith then explained why Sanders wouldn’t pursue the opportunity to coach Shedeur and Shilo Sanders in the NFL. He then boldly stated that if Jerry Jones offered the job, there was no doubt that Coach Prime would accept it.

Deion Sanders’ understanding and previous experience with Jerry Jones makes him a great fit at Cowboys
ESPN insider Adam Schefter sees the potential pairing as a match made in heaven, highlighting Sanders’ extensive experience and status as one of the biggest stars from his playing days in Dallas.
Speaking on the Pat McAfee Show, Schefter explained that Deion Sanders has played under Jerry Jones’ management and therefore has an understanding of how he does things and what he yearns to reap from them.
However, not everyone is agreeable on this stance. For one, Louis Riddick shared that the confluence of the two alpha male personalities would only lead to disaster. Riddick admitted that Deion Sanders wouldn’t be able to coach the team in his own path which might deviate from Jones’ wishes.
