If anyone has learned anything about Donald Trump so far, it would not be surprising to know he will continue to go after something he despises. The same can be said about Stephen A. Smith.

Now combine the two, and rest assured, it can be a recipe for some heated exchanges. It was the ESPN analyst who first started this when he begged the President not to attend Game 3 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden.

After Trump ended up watching the game behind a bulletproof glass, Smith went on to label this as a ‘selfish’ move, focused on improving his standing with New Yorkers.

He alleged that Trump denied passionate fans the opportunity to watch the Knicks continue their winning run and also caused a distraction.

On that distraction note, the analyst went on to blame the 79-year-old for the Knicks’ Game 3 loss. This led the real estate mogul to mock Smith.

Even though the latter responded to it, it has caused a back-and-forth that is threatening to cause even more distractions for the NBA.

Mr. President, you ain’t got to worry about me running. But if I was running, you would have to be worried, because I know there’s quite a few people I’d smoke in a debate… including you, with ease. Actually, with ease. No disrespect, but I ain’t Kamala and I ain’t Joe Biden. I’m a little bit different.

Stephen A. Smith said

This was the 58-year-old making it clear that he is not the one shying away from a debate. Rather, it is Donald Trump, the man who almost endorsed Smith to run in 2028, who does not want to face him.

Donald Trump had mocked Stephen A. Smith on Truth Social

On his namesake podcast, Stephen A. Smith started his response on this note because of what President Donald Trump wrote on his Truth Social earlier.

Stephen A. Smith is an arrogant fool, a low-IQ individual. In other words, he’s “dumb as a rock,” and totally unqualified to ever think of running for high political office, or even low political office, for that matter! He’d get annihilated in a debate by the most incompetent of politicians.

Trump wrote

The 47th President went on to label the ESPN executive producer as a ‘loudmouth huckster,’ who does not have much to offer in politics. Therefore, even the most incompetent ones would be able to ‘laugh him out of politics.’

Essentially, Trump was mocking Smith’s political capabilities once the latter challenged him to a debate. This was the President making it clear how he thinks of the father of two. Therefore, there is next to no chance a debate will take place between them.

Stephen A. Smith continues to remind Donald Trump of his mistake

After addressing Donald Trump’s Truth Social post, Stephen A. Smith went back to pointing out why the President was wrong to attend Game 3 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden.

No sitting President has ever attended the NBA Finals. Why? Because they all knew it would be of incredible inconvenience to the fans. Because this is New York City… You betrayed Knicks fans.

Smith said

He was basically informing his fellow Queens native that his predecessors would not make this mistake, as they were aware of the inconvenience it could be for the residents.

Therefore, it was wrong on Trump’s part to ‘selfishly’ think about his presence and PR over the needs of the people. Moreover, Smith believes that if the Knicks lose their first NBA Finals appearance in 27 years, it would be due to the President and his distractions.
