“Thinks he’s the president” – Stephen A. Smith claiming FBI will protect him from LeBron James has fans losing it
ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith has been on every possible platform trying to edge ahead in the discourse surrounding him and LeBron James.

Stephen A. Smith claims the FBI will protect him from LeBron James
It has been more than a month since Stephen A. Smith and LeBron James clashed. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar set the ball rolling after confronting the ESPN analyst during their game against the New York Knicks.
But since then, it has all centered around the 57-year-old analyst. He appeared on various platforms to first slam James for confronting him publicly. Then he brought up the GOAT conversation to double down on why James does not like him.
Soon after that, the 40-year-old appeared on The Pat McAfee Show to troll Smith’s ‘Taylor Swift tour’ esque run, trying to win brownie points. He then trolled Smith’s suggestion that he would have punched the Lakers star if it came to it.
That troll seemingly ticked the ESPN analyst off, and he appeared live on First Take to chastise LeBron James‘ character. It ended up backfiring, and he was forced to apologize. But it seems he is not done with the discourse and appeared on 360 with Speedy and said this.
On a very, very serious note, everywhere I go, ESPN knows. Local police, FBI, everything. He’s just with me. But I’m always guarded because I’m an investment.

Stephen A. Smith continued to talk about how people got it wrong that he wanted to fight LeBron James. He said that he is all of 57 years old, therefore, he would not fight someone at that age. But he made it clear that there are enough people out there to protect him if the need arises.
Fans shake their heads listening to Stephen A. Smith’s claims
Sports fans watching this episode could not stop shaking their heads, listening to Stephen A. Smith seemingly claim that the FBI and local police will be there to protect him. They could not believe that he thought himself so highly that federal agents would spend time trying to protect a sports analyst.
They understand he is looking to run for President, but to claim that law enforcement is spending their time and money to protect him was too outrageous a claim. Many believe he is too head over himself with these claims. Check out examples of those reactions below.
SAS thinks he's the president with secret service around him 😭

Still milking it. Stephen, LeBron came over to give you a tongue lashing, his hands were not up, this wasn't almost a fight. You also looked absolutely terrified.

Stephen A. Smith might just be clarifying who he can call if matters went to that extent. But his choice of words ended up making him look entitled and someone who is way above any blowback. The ESPN executive producer took it one step further and talked about his bodyguard.
Smith details how his 330-pound bodyguard is enough to go against LeBron James
When Stephen A. Smith was talking to host Speedy Morman about the LeBron James situation, he started by talking about his bodyguard. Smith believes the presence of this bodyguard was enough to handle any situation.
People could say I get my ass kicked. Go ahead. Did you see who I walked in with? He was 10 feet away. So whatever’s going to happen would have to happen quick. Because that brother right there, that is 330 plus, that is my bodyguard, not to mention a whole bunch of other people that I usually have around me. I really have very little to be worried about.

The longtime journalist, mentioning his bodyguard, adds to his logic that he is well protected. However, fans believe this claim just goes on to add that somewhere, Smith is worried for his safety, or he could simply be scared of LeBron James.
The Los Angeles Lakers superstar might never go to the extent of laying hands on the ESPN analyst. He is, after all, a billionaire and the most popular basketball star in the world. Which is why these claims from Smith have fans believing he is just trying to create a protective shield around himself to avoid any further blowbacks.
