New York Jets fans are utterly pumped up for Aaron Rodgers’ comeback in the coming 2024 season after recovering from a major torn ACL injury. However, the looming thought concerning his health with growing age is hovering in every fan’s mind.
Irrespective of his age and the fact he played merely four snaps last season, Stephen A. Smith firmly believes Rodgers is still counted among the top five quarterbacks in the league. He advocated his name in the list saying he isn’t coming off a bad season because he never even got a season.
He hurt his thumb but the last time we saw him healthy, he was an absolute stud. My bottom line argument is Aaron Rodgers, healthy, is one of the all-time greats. I don’t supplant him, because somebody showed up and played lights out as a rookie. Justin Herbert did that. How did he look thereafter? Smith didn’t hold back from calling doubt the other analyst sitting in the panel for doubting the ten-time Pro Bowler quarterback. He argued Rodgers’ prominence by highlighting his consecutive 13-3 seasons in Green Bay, consecutive MVP honors, and touchdown passes of nearly 50.
Tom Brady backs Aaron Rodgers’ comeback hopes
Interestingly, Smith isn’t the only one advocating for Rodgers’ elite status in the NFL. Legend Tom Brady recently spoke in high confidence about the veteran quarterback’s comeback in 2024, believing he will re-instigate his name among the league’s elite passers.
I'm very interested to see how Aaron [Rodgers] comes back and performs this year. You know how dedicated and committed he is to being a great quarterback again. He had a year off, and I believe that would be very motivating for him to do that.Tom Brady said
Despite the challenges of age and health restrictions, the signal-caller is thrilled to mark his prominence next season and revealed how these things motivate him to have other goals and motivations. Brady also enlisted the 40-year-old in the list of top five quarterbacks in the league, alongside Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, and Joe Burrow.
